We had been on the road for a while and this place was a breathe of fresh air. Michelle is so organized and has a great welcome back with all the information you could possibly need on Tena. She and Gary both go out of their way to answer any questions and to assist with any needs. It was also a nice break to have host that speak English.
The hotel is set up great for short or longer stays. The kitchen is excellent for preparing your own meals, the showers are very hot, AND there is an excellent washer and dryer that are free to use.
Not to mention, Tena is a great spot if you love the outdoors. Make sure that you go on one of Gary's tours, it's a great way to see the area.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Have you been “roughing it” traveling around Ecuador? Take a break and come spoil your inner gringo with us for a few days. (I promise it won't break your bank, our guests get the royal treatment at competitive prices!) We’ve been called the “ultimate hostel”, what’s great is that’s really what we were going for! Here at La CasaBlanca, our guests enjoy: the hotel’s own really big communal kitchen equipped with everything needed for cooking their own meals (and where conversations and friendships start between people from all over the world), a living room complete with a desk with a printer, free Wi-Fi, a laundry room with a washer/dryer available, free. There’s also house wide purified water, the showers have plenty of water as hot as you want it at a good pressure, there are fans in every room and all the windows have screens. We also attend to the little details, like the armoires and lockers actually have hangers, we provide towels and there are even places to hang them. On top of that, everything is just sooo nice, new, clean and beautiful with wood furnishings and art on the walls. Private rooms or individual beds in a communal, large, hostel room (with full-size lockers), can be rented by the day, week, or month. ... more less
