“Stunning location, fantastic wedding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2014

We stayed at the Anse Soleil in April, we also got married there and I have to say it was the best day of our life. The staff made the day so special for us and made our day perfect in every way. The hotel is situated on a beautiful beach and by far the best beach in the Seychelles from other beaches we visited, although all were stunning. It was a real paradise beach and unspoilt. The hotel and its staff were so friendly and helpful, we were in a standard room but upgraded to a superior room for the last 3 days, but all rooms were clean and all had stunning views of the sea. Special thanks to Monique, Frances and Alison and all the staff, we hope to return for our anniversary in the not too distant future. Also thanks to Lucia at Seychelles Travel for organising our wedding arrangements, travel and hotel - Caroline and Simon Kenney

Room Tip: Room 10 apparently the best room, but I thought all the rooms were well situated, all just steps awa...

Have just returned having had our wedding at Anse Soleil. We couldn't have wished for a better day in a better place. A big thank you to the staff for making our day so special.
The beach is at most times quiet, safe for swimming and there are plenty of fish to see when snorkelling.
We requested room 10 and in our view was the best room. It was clean and large and the sea and rocks were directly underneath our balcony. We stayed for 14 nights and wished we had only stayed for 7 and then could have afforded to go to another island. It seems that most people visit somewhere else and then go to Anse Soleil for 3-7 nights. We found that 14 nights was too long as there is nothing to do in the evenings, the road is very long and steep to walk to the main road (a car is a necessity) and the food can get very repetitive with eggs being cooked every which way they can for breakfast and only chips or rice as the accompaniment for dinner. We are used to all inclusive resorts for the variety and found that half board was not for us.
All in all we would recommend that others book the hotel for the 2nd week of the holiday and enjoy the peaceful relaxing and unique atmosphere of the hotel.

Room Tip: Room 10 is at the end, more secluded with no-one passing and the sea and rocks directly underneath y...

We stayed in a superior room for 4 nights. The location of this hotel is fantastic. The ocean is only meters away from the rooms. We had the best snorkelling of our holidays on the Anse Soleil beach (left side along the hotel). I bet the 4 Seasons wants to buy out the Anse Soleil Beachcomber! The hotel is not really a 3 star hotel, it's more a 2 star hotel in a 5 star location. The staff is very friendly. What's preventing me to give this hotel a “Very Good" rating is the feeling that the owners haven't spent any money on this hotel in a very long time. The best example is the beds... They're terrible: old spring mattresses. We had to ask for them to be swapped with those of another room after our first night because we couldn't sleep. It was a little bit better... The mattresses were so old that you could feel the springs poking at your body. The double beds are not really double beds: they're double beds with 2 single mattresses... The basic requirement for a hotel is a good bed... Food at the restaurant is ok and overpriced. The breakfast could seriously be improved. You can get eggs for free but if you want a piece of bacon or something more with your eggs, you have to pay additional. This felt pretty cheap... Overall good stay but we wouldn't go back unless they were to replace the beds.

The beach of Anse Soliel on Mahe, Seychelles is one of the best on the island and one of the best on the Seychelles. The Beachcomber is a small privately owned hotel right on the beach. With only about 16 rooms all of which have beach views it is intimate a friendly. The owner, Mrs Alison Albert has resisted massive pressure from the Four Seasons Hotel next door to sell out and long may she continue. It is not luxurious but has air conditioned rooms, a large bathroom with tub, shower toilet etc. It also has a fridge and safe and plenty of storage space.

The food is creole and good. Table D'Hote is limited in options but there is plenty of it whereas the A La Carte offers more choice. It is not Gourmet food but it is very traditional island style.
The restaurant is open on three sides so that you can enjoy the sound of the sea as you eat. The bar does not operate as a proper bar but you can get a reasonable choice of drinks pre dinner and wine with the meal. The wine options are very simple i.e. red, white or rose or bubbly of you prefer.

What is special is its location. Our favourite room is a pathway across from the beach. You can sit on your porch and watch the sun the sand and the sea in pure peace.

The staff are friendly and Monique manages the day to day operation with care.
To get there simply fly into the main airport on Mahe and ask the taxi to take you to the Beachcomber (pronounced Beach comBer!!) It is a bout a 35 minute drive away on the western side of the island. The sunsets therefore are stunning. The rates are modest with discounts for returning guests, with our five night stay costing us about £750 including all food and drinks.

There is no swimming pool (who needs a swimming pool when the beach is 100m away) but the beach is excellent for swimming and safe. You can snorkel right off the beach with coral beds only metres away from the swimming area. The fish on the coral are generally larger than we find on most coral beds.

The hotel location is excellent for visiting the other beautiful beaches on the Western side of the island and the hotel have their own car rental fleet at modest costs.

Of course if you prefer maximum luxury you can always stay at the Four Season's next door at £2500 per night but you'll miss the magic of this little bit of paradise.

Room Tip: Room 8 has virtually no passing traffic (pedestrian) and is right next to the sea. It is one of the...

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights and was the highlight of our trip to Seychelles. The hotel is situated on a stunning beach. Our luggage didn't arrive with us and the staff could not have been any more helpful. They provided us with essentials until our luggage arrived. We stayed on a half board basis and thought the food was excellent. I cannot fault anything about the hotel and wish we could have stayed longer.

Perfect Location ; step out of your room, ten steps and you are on the PERFECT beach. Great swimming, excellent snorkeling, no sea urchins, no coral stones, no currents, just large expanses of perfect white sands and warm clear water. If you like resorts and fancy this is not for you - the staff are simply charming, the rooms clean, well equipped and lack for nothing but they are not smart (tho they have recently built some upmarket large rooms near the back. The dinners are great - and there is another excellent Creole family restaurant 40 paces away. We have stayed at 6 places in the Seychelles (from 5 star to 2 star) and swum at 15 beaches between Mahe, Praslin and La Digue - this is the best. And Mahe is full of real Seychellois not just tourists and people from the tourist industry. We will return and for the unpressurized, unpretentious, and 'foreign' island holiday - you could not have a better base (tho there is No Reason To Leave Here).

Room Tip: For the beach standard room, for slightly more upmarket ask for the superior rooms (an extra 20 step...

Anse Soleil Beachcomber is located quite far away from Victoria and almost from everything else. Even the nearest bus stop is far at about 20-30 minutes on foot. However this means that the Anse Soleil beach is empty most of the time, and this beach might be the best in Seychelles, with splendid snorkelling and a really beautiful scenery.
The superior room is a nice bungalow with lots of space, a very big shower and a really comfortable bed.
Breakfast is ok but dining is a bit overpriced (although not much more than many places in Seychelles).
They offer car rental, which is convenient given that the hotel is far away from everything else.
