“The Wedding Trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2012

We recently attended our daughter's wedding in July 2012 and the whole families on both sides stayed for anything between several days to a week on a bed & breakfast basis. We cannot express our delight at the warmth & hospitality of Carla & Alberto who made everyone's stay so perfect.Nothing was too much trouble& the venue and catering was second to none. The accommodation is in self catering apartments which are air conditioned spacious and well furnished in a traditional style. On request Carla prepared excellent evening meals which were eaten outside on the terrace. The outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi were well used and there was the added bonus of the provision of towels. The setting being glorious with magnificent views over the surrounding countryside.A hired car is recommended with the small town of San Miniato 10 minutes drive away.We cannot recommend this venue enough and is perfect for either a wedding venue or individual holidays. We will certainly consider a return trip.

I have just returned from a fabulous stay at this incredible venue. The rooms are a little rustic but perfect for what you need, a base away from the summer heat. The rooms had excellent air con, clean fresh bed linen and towels, the shower was pretty small in our room at the top of the house but the pressure was good. Carla and Alberto were so welcoming and excellent hosts - nothing was too much trouble. Alberto (who speaks very good English) even helped us out when we had an issue with the car we had hired, sending us off to a local mechanic friend.
I was a guest at my brothers wedding here and it was a fantastic venue for such an event - incredible views and beautifully maintained grounds with a great pool that was always perfectly clean. There really is nothing I can say that is bad - I would recommend to friends to stay, both solo travelers looking for a quiet getaway, to families with kids who need a base to use when exploring the local Tuscan area. It's not that easy to find though so make sure you print out a map or get directions from Alberto before setting off. Enjoy - this place is a real gem and I will definitely return one day.
P.s the breakfast that Carla makes is amazing, get stuck in to those fried eggs, simply divine!

Room Tip: There are no lifts so unless you don't mind a stair climb ask for a room on a lower floor, some...

We returned to the UK today after staying here for our wedding. We married in the beautiful town hall in San Miniato and had our reception in the groundsfor Bucciano.

I cannot put into words just how amazing this place is. The views are magnificent, the swimming pool clean and refreshing, the property is beautiful, clean and very well maintained, the grounds are a Tuscan dream and the apartments have everything you need. I also cannot praise highly enough Carla and Alberto who make this such a wonderful place to stay. They are really decent people and nothing is too much trouble. The food which Carla prepared (often at short notice and for large groups) was beyond delicious. Alberto speaks very good English and both he and Carla went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home, and they also made surprise contributions to support our wedding theme and make our day special.

We had a party of 34 in total including a 1 year old up to 70 something year olds and all had a lovely time and were accommodated with ease.

All of our guests were full of praise and many would love to return. We definitely intend to return. Casa Vacanze Bucciano is everything we want from Tuscany.

Stayed at the Casa Vacanze Bucciano in July 2012 for a wedding with about 30 people.
The site is quite remote and on top of a hill, so it is best reached by car, but the views are spectacular and it is very peaceful.
Carla and Antonio are lovely and attentive to the needs of their guests and will endeavour to keep you well fed and watered. There is an on site bar, but you are welcome to bring your own food and drink too. Most rooms have a fridge freezer, microwave, hob and sink, as well as the much needed air conditioning.
The pool is clean, well maintained and at the deep end about 8 feet deep. There is also a jacuzzi which is the same temperature as the pool and toilet/shower/changing facilities underneath the pool.
My only criticisms are minor. The beds are very hard, the showers are feisty and insect repellent is a must.
Overall i thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

I stayed for a weekend in July to celebrate a friends wedding and couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. The property was a delight to arrive at, having a country lane into the hills and then magnificent gates to continue your ascent to the property.
The swimming pool and jacuzzi was a good size and superbly maintained and the views from all around the property were spectacular.
Our apartment had a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen/dining/living room with table chairs, sofa etc and had 2 air-conditioning units, which were a great relief in the July 37* weather.
The breakfasts were magnificent and had not been changed due to the wedding.
Such flexible and relaxed an atmosphere we had to remember to get ready on the day!
And, a very short distance to San Miniato Town, a fabulous place to visit for historic buildings and good food.

Room Tip: Ensure you have the air conditioned room in the summer.

In September, we stayed at Villa Bucciano for our wedding along with 50 guests. The location was stunning, the accommodation was rustic and very comfortable, the grounds were well maintained, and the swimming pool was the icing on the cake. We had an absolutely fantastic five-night stay here. The villa far surpassed our expectations, and Alberto & Carla, our hosts, were unbelievably helpful and ensured that all the guests had a fantastic time. We would thoroughly recommend the villa whether you are staying there are a couple or as a large group. Highly recommended!!!!!

After driving from Pisa airport we arrived at the impressive gates of Villa Bucciano. Alberto met us at the top of the drive and helped us with our bags to our apartment. The apartment (Scuderia) was clean, air-conditioned, and had an incredible view of the rolling Tuscan hills.

The swimming pool is a really good size, and provided a great respite from the 35C heat. There were plenty of loungers, chairs, parasols and a couple of tables at the pool side.

The venue was the perfect setting for our wedding. The ceremony itself was held in San Miniato town hall. We then returned to the villa for prosecco and canapés in the garden. The meal was served on the first-floor terrace, and the dancing was held in the garden. There was also a courtyard where we had a BBQ one night. The weather, the setting, the food & wine, and the superb organisation by our wedding planner and Alberto & Carla made for an unforgettable experience.

Myself, my new wife and 50 of our closest family and friends travelled to Casa Vacanze Bucciano in July 2010 for our wedding. We had an absolutely wonderful time. We visited a year before for only one night and decided this was the place we wanted to get married in. We stayed here with all our frieds for one week, where we booked out all the rooms and had the place entirely to ourselves.

Before arriving we were a little worried that it might not be as nice as we had hoped. Any queries were slowly answered by the hotel manager. But once we arrived, we were absolutely delighted with the venue.

After negociating the windy road to the top of the hill we came to Bucciano. Its just over half hours drive from Pisa, so the location is ideal. Alberto (who manages the apartments with his mother Carla) met us all and showed us all to our rooms. Everyone was amazed with the place and couldn't believe the fantastic views from Bucciano.

The hotel, is really a collection of self-catering apartments, which together with some other apartments and private homes make up the hamlet of Bucciano. Its about 5 minutes to the closest shop in La Serra, and 10 minutes to the beautiful old town of San Miniato - which is fantastic to look around. A car is definately required!

We had the pool to ourselves, and some of our guests who stayed in adjoining apartments (not owed by the hotel) were free to use the pool too. As the childrens paddling pool was out of service, Alberto kindly provided armbands for the kids and additional furniture to accomodate everyone.

We had our wedding party in the little square in the centre, and it truly was way beyond our expectations.

We are back from our honeymoon and everyone who was at Bucciano is still raving about it. Alberto and Carla were fantastic, and the newly refurbished villa was available to us on the wedding day.

I can't believe more people haven't reviewed this place!! I would throughly reccomend it to anyone wanting to explore Tuscany, but wants to experience the beautiful countryside. All in all a wonderful experience that will not be forgotten by all who were there.

P.S. - You gotta try Carla's breakfasts - the best in all the places we stayed in Italy!
