Whilst touring the Highlands of Scotland, sightseeing and visiting friends we stopped off at 'The Anderson' hotel/pub/restuarant in the pretty town of Fortrose on the Black Isle - a real delight in itself. Its off of the A9 road near Inverness but well worth the small diversion. Here you will find a most genuine piece of Scotland that's very much alive & well. Its off the beaten track and there's space to breath here, think, talk and relax.
The Anderson is a wonderful place, an historic building, in a beautiful location and then fully equipped with all the delights you would ever want for food, or a stay and more. Its not a busy place, nor is it modern and crammed with contempary designs - its a home from home suitable for both the local or the weary traveller passing through. You wont feel out of place whoever you are.
The food and drink was simply fantastic, attention to detail beyond many other establishments and the quality comparable to that of any fashionable City centre main stay eateries. Staff were pleasant and courteous and that Scottish smile you receive seems to get longer and longer.....................
Well recommended and well worth visiting - if you're up that way.
