Overall our holiday at this resort was fantastic. The resort itself is in a very quiet area a drive away from the local town. We found that our apartment was a bit tight for 6 people, but apart from that the rooms are clean and cosy, and the air conditioning is a big bonus as it made it a lot more comfortable to sleep at night or if you wanted to escape the heat in the middle of the day.
The resort itself was well maintained with lots of things to do during the day such as table tennis, tennis court, big chess and mini golf, as well as the entertainment which is the same everyday and this includes water polo, yoga, archery, aqua gym, volleyball and some evening entertainment which varies daily. However from the previous reviews and previous experiences in other resorts in Turkey we were expecting a lot more from the entertainment than what we received. We didn’t really see much of the entertainment team, probably because we spent our time on the beach and the entertainment team were mainly located at the main pool. The boys in our family took a tennis lesson with Murat, the tennis coach who was a very good teacher, and when he wasn’t coaching tennis he was great at getting the kids involved in other activities such as teaching them table tennis or mini golf.
The private beach in the resort is very nice and the sea is wonderful, the pier has a ladder which makes it easy to get into but you can also get into the sea from the sand fairly easily. However we found it annoying that despite the management effort to prevent people reserving sun beds with towels, if you came on the beach at 9am nearly all the sun beds would have towels on them with no people around. Luckily it wasn’t a problem for us as we have a Gran who enjoys her early morning swims at 6am! There are also plenty of pools around the resort. Most apartments had a pool nearby which was very handy for the kids to go and swim in the pool but still be close by, and there were normally no problems with getting a sun bed there.
We rented a car which was very handy. Firstly it meant that we could avoid the scary mountain road we heard about on the way from the airport to the hotel and go a slightly longer but safer route. It was also very useful in terms of getting to Akbuk, the town nearby where we used the supermarkets and ate out in the evenings. There are lots of restaurants along the beach harbour which have very good prices and the atmosphere there in the evenings is great with them even running some evening entertainment. We would particularly recommend Devran, a very homely restaurant with well cooked food for very reasonable prices. The restaurants in the resort are very expensive and we can’t comment on them because we never ate there. For example, for our family of 5 we would have spent over £ 80 for a dinner and £ 40 for breakfast. In comparison in Akbuk we had a lovely dinner for five of us for under £40.
Overall, this was a very relaxing holiday with enough to do and we would love to return to Turkey again.
