“The perfect chill out zone”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

We stayed for a week in October having stayed here previously and yet again were not disappointed. Accomodation is excellent, very clean and spacious. Breakfast is plentiful with lots of fresh fruit each day, cheeses and meats plus lots more. Breakfast is served outside in the sunshine by the pool.
Julie could not be more helpful from arranging all airport transfers, picking us up from the harbour and answering any questions about the island.
The village is pretty with very good restaurants offering exceptional food and service. If you are looking for a relaxing break we recommend Lellux and why not try one of Julies amazing Spa treatments there for that extra bit of pampering.

We stayed at Lellux for a week's relaxed honeymoon in mid-October and absolutely loved it! We had chosen to stay here because of the excellent reviews on trip advisor and we weren't disappointed.

The accommodation is spacious and comfortable; we had a lovely double-room complete with our own private balcony. The bed was very comfortable and the room clean and tidy. The B&B is very well-situated in the centre of Qala about a minute's walk from the central square where there are several very good restaurants. It is about 20 minutes walk from Hondoq Bay (the closest beach) which is stones rather than sand, but with lovely clear water and a sundeck from which you can jump into the sea, or just enjoy a (rented) sun-lounger. There is also a kiosk cafe serving drinks and good-quality snack food.

As other's have mentioned, the best thing about staying at Lellux is the owner and host, Julie. She was extremely welcoming and exceptionally helpful throughout our stay and before. She had arranged airport transfers for us (including to take us to our first hotel on Malta when we flew in!) and when we asked if we could rent a car at very short notice one evening she had it ready and waiting outside the B&B the following morning. As an aside, I'd really recommend hiring a car at 30 euros a day to explore Gozo - we found some lovely secluded beaches and it made seeing everywhere really easy. She also arranged a boat crossing to the neighbouring island of Comino (for the blue lagoon) and booked us a lovely restaurant in the harbour at Mgarr one evening. It seemed to us that she knew everyone on the island - she certainly has a lot of contacts! As other guests have said, she collected us from the harbour when we arrived and took us back to the ferry when it was (very sadly) time to go home, ensuring we knew exactly where we needed to go.

When there was a really heavy thunderstorm, Julie provided a dvd player so we could watch some 'rainy afternoon' films which she let us borrow! Julie also offers spa treatments - we only had one massage but it was excellent and another facet to the really personal service Julie offers.

Breakfast was provided everyday of course and was delicious with plenty of fresh fruit, cereals, cheese and cold meat. Julie also provided boiled eggs and bacon sandwiches too. It really set us up for the day and we often didn't need to have any lunch.

It can be hard to express all the little touches and experiences which make you feel like a valued guest, but there were plenty: essentially, nothing was too much trouble and we returned feeling extremely rested and relaxed. You can't ask for more than that - thank you Julie.

Hi Guys,
Well, what can I say? Other than I am so happy that I provided you with an honeymoon to remember!
Obviously, I want all my guests to leave Lellux with happy memories, and a piece of Gozo in their hearts, but for honeymooners the responsibility is even greater.
I am more than happy that Gozo and Lellux met with your expectations.
Thank you so very much for your lovely, and heart felt contribution. Hopefully you will spend a few anniversaries here as well!
Hugs to you both

We stayed in Lellux for a weeks holiday in August and loved it. All of the tripadvisor reviews said how wonderful Lellux was and how Julies hospitality really stood out and they didn't lie.

Before we even arrived Julie had no issue answering questions or booking our airport transfers. We were picked up at the harbour and showed around the village of qala and Julie even managed to get us a table for a really late dinner, which was great,

Lellux itself is lovely. Our room was spacious and v comfortable. The breakfast each morning got us ready for the day and the restaurants in qala village were great.

The big difference about staying here and what makes it 5 star is Julie. She was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. Whether it was recommending restaurants, things to do or booking us on the jeep safari or boat trip, both of which I'd recommend.

If you want a really chill out holiday where the biggest decision is what type of Maltese wine you're going to try, then Gozo is the place and Lellux is the place to stay.

Just home from a wonderful stay with Julie in Lellux. Where do I begin?? Having stayed in basic accomodation on Malta we were picked up from Julie at the ferry and shown around Qala before arriving in the lap of luxury at Lellux. We stayed in Crocodile Rock, one of the rooms with communal balcony. The rooms are very spacious and even had a double bed, no singles pushed together here!! We were greeted by the aroma of the hand made soap once we entered our immaculate room which was also furnished with a complimentary bottle of wine and fresh fruit. These little touches and the decor and Buddhas dotted around the place and the relaxed vibe made all the difference. Not to mention our spectacular host Julie, who really made the stay that bit more personal and her recommendations on where to go where most welcome too. We had our first nice meal in D Bar which was a welcome departure from the usual fare of burgers and chips we had become accustomed to on our holiday up until arriving in Gozo. I feel five out of five doesn't do this gem justice, well worth a return visit, highly recommended.

Lovely house located in center of Qala. We spend one week at this farmhouse and had a wonderful time. Julie helpt us with all arrangements booking jeepsafari, boatsailing and recommended us the most wonderful beaches on Gozo. We can warmly recommend Lellux and Gozo.

Hi Tina,
Thank you for your contribution on my Trip Advisor page, and for you kind words.
I'm very happy that you, and your lovely family enjoyed staying at Lellux, in Qala.
I am constantly striving for excellence, here at Lellux, and I was worried that your sleep quality was not 100%. Was this because of the noisy cockerel or was there something that I can do to improve the bedrooms?
If there is anything you feel could be done, please don't hesitate in letting me know
Again, I thank you whole heartedly for your kind contribution, and we hope to see you again in the future.
Kind regards and best wishes to Frederick and the "children"
Julie

We thoroughly enjoyed our 7 nights at Lellux. Julie was very welcoming and helpful and the house was a real treat. Staying so close to the square was a bonus and meals at 'D' bar and 224
were delicious. An evening drink at 'the bucket bar' was another pleasure as the view is fantastic. We loved the company of the dogs, Scoop and Fenn and look forward to one day returning.

Room Tip: The Azure window room at the top was light, airy and private

Julie, Fen and Scoop all combine in a special way to make a stay at Lellux a relaxing home from home.
Any extras needed are never too much trouble to arrange, car hire, walking tours, diving or directions to lovely restaurants. We could only stay for 4 nights which is never enough when one finds a lovely place to stay.
Thanks again Julie for a fantastic, relaxing stay.
