We stayed at Wyndham National Harbor in January, week after the inauguration. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the area was. National Harbor was in a resort area with plenty of restaurants and a nice waterfront. Since it was winter time, we didn't really get to enjoy the area as much as we'd like to.
Wyndham impressed us once again. The resort was very nice and had a contemporary decor. We stayed in a one bedroom on the 11th floor which had a nice view of the Potomac. Our suite had a nice sized jacuzzi tub and separate shower. No complaints at all with a fully equipped kitchen and plenty of space.
The resort is fairly new and had very good amenities. There was a in and outdoor pool along with a hot tub. The resort had plenty of daily activities with a children's room and game room.
We learned our lesson before not to attend the timeshare presentations. However, they gave us two options, a 90 minute for a $75 gift card or a 15 minute update for a $25 gift card. We didn't want to do it at all but agreed to the 15 minute so the nice guy at the counter got credit. To our surprise, the rep came up the next morning for 15 minutes and actually gave us some very important information in the 15 minutes and left. That was the more valuable to us than all the other "2-hour long" sales pitches we are normally pained with.
Parking was very reasonable at $11/night. WE ended up renting a car two days. However, there was a free shuttle that took guests to downtown DC, which we utilized almost every day. It was only about 15 minutes. They picked up in the morning and throughout the day until night.
I definitely recommend this resort. We plan to go back when the weather is nice so we can enjoy the resort, Harbor and DC a little more.
