I went with my Wife to celebrate my 30th and had a great time. Rooms are clean, food is great and the weather was amazing in September. Not much to do on the Island itself but found tour of Stone Town informative and we went on the day cruise which inclding lunch and snorkeling which broke up the week we stayed. I have stayed in quite a few all inclusive resorts and this was the best one so far. Drinks are served in proper glasses which inlcuded Stella Beer. Wide selection of food plus had tv showing preiership football at the beach bar which was great.

Stayed here at Easter to relax following a safari in Kenya.

Apart from a busy Easter weekend the hotel was incredibly quiet, with staff outnumbering guests - due to the time of year not the quqlity of the hotel, but if we'd known we'd have tried to negotiate a better deal.

Many staff were lovely.
Facilities good, gardens beautiful, food good and fresh.

On the downside, the beach was fabulous but the minute you set foot on it you're pounced on by beach boys. Nothing threatening and I totally understand that they're trying to make a living but it made me feel a bit uncomfortable and as a result I didn't go onto the beach as much as I'd have liked.

Would have loved some fresh fruit juices instead of syrupy cocktails.

Top tips:
The resort is pretty spread out and has quite a lot of steps so when booking consider if you want near to the beach and pools (and therefore noisier) or quieter but a bit of a schlepp and up steps.
Went on a tour of Stone Town; worth doing but a bit of a route march - quality is probably very dependent on the guide.
Tour of the spice farm was amazing: smelled, touched and tasted everything and learnt loads. Definitely worth the money and tips.

We have just spent a wonderful week at Neptune Pwani and simply loved our stay. The accommodation is beautiful and extremely comfortable (including the bed) and the July weather was perfect. The swimming pools are magnificent and the beach is simply the best - clean, white sand and crystal clear, warm water. We loved to lie on the comfortable loungers under the shady trees on the beach front. The 'beach boys' (a few touting locals) are friendly and polite but can be disarmingly persistent if one is not firm or engages in conversation. There is a hotel security guard on duty along the beach front. All the hotel staff are well trained, polite and helpful. Internet is available in the reception area at an extra cost. The location is fine. We pre-booked a few day tours with Eco and Culture Tours who collected us from the hotel, which was a really good call. Our thanks to all who contributed to make our holiday a memorable, very special experience. If we could do our trip over again, the only thing that I would change would be to fly to Zanzibar direct, not via Dar es Salaam - unfortunately we were limited by dates and did not have a choice.

Room Tip: The sea side rooms are conveniently situated, near the pools, dining areas and beach while the sea v...

After three weeks throughout southern Africa, our four days at Neptune were perfect! The family was ready to head home on arrival - but quickly changes our minds, wishing we could stay longer than our planned four nights. The rooms, pools, restaurants, and beach are fantastic. The staff is very welcoming, genuinely grateful for your business, and we developed friendships with many.

After a week on safari in Kenya we were looking for somewhere to relax and unwind. This hotel was just what we needed. The setting is beautiful and the arrangement of the rooms as villas was perfect. The service from the staff was excellent and nothing was too much trouble.
Wandering onto the beach meant that you were hassled by the locals trying to sell you everything from day trips to beads and baubles. This does become irritating after a while.
The food in the hotel was generally good and they clearly worked hard to showcase the local flavours and spices. The desserts were the weak point. The cake was dry, the meringues were too crisp and the mousse was grainy. Stick to the impressive array of fresh fruit on offer.

Room Tip: Sea views are lovely and benefit from an evening breeze.

Sandies Neptune Pwani Beach was a fabulous family holiday - we planned for lots beach and pool time, plenty of food and drink - and we were not disappointed - this is a seriously lovely place to relax! We stayed in a suite, which was large (more than we needed considering how little time we spent in it) and very clean, right next to the larger pool and looking out through the coconut palms and pandana's to the beach. Food was plentiful and varied (we ate far too much...) staff are professional, attentive and were awesome with our two boys - so friendly and fun! Beach Boys were not much of a nuisance at all and I do believe the hotel's advice against using them is more financial based than trying to protect you - perhaps ask other patrons if they've used particular Beach Boys - use a bit of good old fashioned caution though. Beach changes during the day - which I loved. Only one negative thing I will say is the beds are incredibly hard (other patrons agreed when we were there) I know this sounds perhaps a little precious - but it's simply not a comfortable night's sleep. Hopefully it's only a few rooms and isn't a problem to the majority of the rooms. Overall though - we'd definitely recommend this absolutely delightful part of Zanzibar.
