Let me start saying this was the worst experience I've ever had in a hotel. Becuase of the huricane Sandy we have to evacuate Atlantic City, my sister who lives in Brigantine, NJ was also evacuated. So she went in person to the Ramada in Galloway, NJ and made reservatios for her family and mine for three nights. On Sunday she checked in with her three kids (one them disable and in a wheelchair) and her husband. Later in the day I checked in with my husband and my two kids. We had to wait for the room to be cleaned and when we got in the room was presentable but not really clean. Since it was an emergency I did not complaint or comment about it. The room reservation included breakfast, so the first morning we went down and had breakfast with the family. The second morning, they said that there was not going to be any breakfast because the delivery was late. At night I was one of the six channels they have on their tv I hear water leaking from the 4th floor in to the bathroom, I called the front desk and It took them two hours and 4 phone calls to fix it. They fix the leaking but never came to clean all the water. Since Atlantic City and Brigantine was still closed, my sister called the front desk to extend her stay, as instructed by the front desk the day before.
They told my sister they did not have any rooms available for us and that we needed to leave.
I called the front desk again to speak with the manager and explained the situation, about not been able to go back home yet and the fact that my sister had a disable child and his answer was that it was not his problem and that he was running a bussiness( I dont know why he though we were a charity case, because we paid for our rooms and we were going to pay for our room extansions). It is a shame that they dont give preference to their guest over other people check in, specially during the special sircumstances. After having a hell of a day worring and calling every single hotel, the front desk extended my sisters room, but not mine.
I checked out but stayed, talking with my sister until we could figure out what to do. Around 2:30 pm, I asked the front desk for cancelations and the lady there, who was very helpful told me it was a cancelation. I book my room for two more nights and to my surprise it was the same room I checked out from hours ago. They told me to wait for housekeeping and I waited until 7pm and housekeeping never showed up to clean my room. So I went in to the room and stay there that night the next morning we had to harrassed houskeeping to get our sheets change and towels, there were no towels during the whole stay and the elevator was out of service must of the time.
I hope the owner of this place reads this review becuase I want to tell him that you never know when you are going to be in the situation we were during the huricane, money comes and goes. You never know when you might need from somebody else.
This was the worst experience ever, Im glad to be home.
Room Tip: Please dont go there, because your would be treated poorly and is not clean. I felt humiliated and...
