“Historic Resort with Class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

I was nervous to say the least, historic of course translation, OLD! Not so fast, I checked in with Matt & Dennis, could not have been more hospitable, but not the drippy sarcasm kind. Warm would be correct, multiple offers of help if needed, clear direction for every question and by the way checked me in well before the 1600hrs check in time. I was prepared to rest on the couch in the beautiful lobby as I felt a headache coming on and it was Dennis who without my even asking researched and located my room, dare I say it was 1400hrs. Room service food and delivery was outstanding, standard $3.00 delivery charge and gratuity 20%, onion soup au gratin, free range chicken & the chocolate bomb! The taste exceeded my expectations. Okay, so now to the gym, I feel better and full and the gym was the icing on the cake. Towels, water, packets of headphones (individual of course) sanitizer, TV on every piece of cardio. Lest not forget the indoor pool. Finally the people, every one nicer then the next, stay here it will not disappoint.

I was slightly hesitent in booking a stay here. Over the years when staying in older hotels we usually have found a stale or mustiness in the rooms and hallways. This resort undertook a renovation a short while back and has done a fabulous job in every detail. The hotel lobby, rooms, hallways and grounds are remarkable in their cleanliness and appearance. This is a beautiful place!
Every member of the staff that I interacted with was professional and pleasant. They all were attentive to any needs or questions you might have. It is a hotel and resort I look forward to returning to. The only downside was that the main dining room was not open for dinner during my stay. Breakfast was solid and affordable, room service was available, there are 2 bars on the main floor where guests can have light fare - so you need not go hungry.
I was there as part of a golf group. The courses were both in excellent condition and very challenging. The starters, pro shop staff and grounds personnel all had the same pleasant attitude as the hotel staff. A nice job by everyone, this resort invites you back by making you comfortable and relaxed.

We spent a beautiful fall weekend at the Seaview for golfing and relaxation, and got plenty of both. While the men golfed on 2 challenging and well-maintained courses, the women walked the property, enjoyed the comfortable lobby, had leisurely brakfast in the dining room, and went shopping at nearby Smithville. The hotel is old, but very comfortable and well maintained, comfortable beds, modern bathroom, large closet, and extremely clean. Every staff member we encountered was a pleasure to deal with - very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The golf staff was particularly stellar - burdened by a fully scheduled weekend but they held up extremely well, keeping in good spirits, keeping everyone informed and moving things along as well as could be expected. They even apologized to us on Saturday for the slowness of play, and gave us a coupon for a free round on our next visit. That was unexpected, and very appreciated. We had breakfast in main dining room, which was excellent, and lunch once in Grill Room, which was ok. Dining room was not open for dinner, which was a disappointment, so we went to Atlantic City both nights (a 15 minute drive). Definitely a place we'll return to - and not just for the free round of golf.

Room Tip: ask about distance from elevators if that is a concern. halls are very long

Grounds are beautiful. Golfcourse very close by. The rooms are outdated and need renovations, very 1980's decor.
The beds were comfortable but had a strange location for the TV.

Our room was very musty. I had to open the window an let fresh air in. This is not a good situation for people with allergies.

The food was good. We ate at the bar for dinner and had the breakfast buffet.

Room Tip: Ask if there are any updated rooms

My husband and I stayed at the Seaview for a wedding recently. The hotel is beautiful, the lobby gorgeous and the service was outstanding. Steve in the Valet services area went above and beyond to provide the best service to us, from having our car waiting by the time we exited the building, to handing us water for our trip home. Everyone else was also incredibly helpful, from personally carting us to other areas (the spa, villas) to making sure our room service arrived within 15 minutes. It is an older hotel so the Jr Executive room was smaller compared to other suites we've stayed in, as was the gym, but the large marble bathroom and walk in closet were nice. We'd return thanks to the amazing service and calm atmosphere.

Room Tip: The standard rooms are a bit small with a bed, dresser and TV, closet and bathroom. The Jr. Executi...

Seaview is wonderful, a quick drive for us. Our daughter surprised us with a two night stay, it was perfect. I would rate it 5 Stars, except the evening dining was somewhat disappointing. The only place available in the hotel is a bright, loud Grille Room. The Grille Room is good for sandwiches after a round of golf, but not much for dinner. Although the food we ordered was very good, we would have preferred a nicer dining experience. That being said, we are definitely going to return for a visit. Great golf, service was perfect (everything from the valet to checkout), great breakfast, clean room with nice quality towels. Can not wait to return.

Room Tip: Ask to face the front, can see the water and Atlantic City.

I have to admit that our stay started out "rough" due to to room issues...Dennis in guest services did everything possible to help make my husband and I comfortable. The hotel is old so there are obvious issues but the customer service we received made all the difference!
