“Huge rooms but rude front desk”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

My family always stays in country inn when we go out of town and this is the first time that we weren't treated well by the front desk. No warm welcome. He didn't even plan to accommodate us that night because we didn't have the employee's letter to avail the employee rate but we did have the employee id that he didn't even want to see or honor. Good thing the supervisor was there the next day and he assured us that there's no problem and even apologized for his staff behavior. The rooms are big although we didn't use it as much as we drove to AC and cape may most of the time. All in all it's pretty decent. Breakfast is ok, but we ate breakfast at denny's which is not too far from the hotel. Recommendable.

Not sure where the negative reviews come from. Look at the pictures they don't lie! For those unfamiliar with the area this hotel is at the end of a highway around a 10 minute drive from Atlantic City. There are several hotels on this strip and is essentially for people who don't like casinos,or when casinos are overbooked and pricy. There is no walking around this area and the highway is one way so you will always have to drive past your hotel and u-turn to get there. This hotel is very new,the lobby has coffee and cookies available at all times. It has a nice reading area next to a fireplace with books to borrow. I got a 70$ jacuzzi room directly from their website using a promo code. I shopped around and all others nearby were 20$ or more for a jacuzzi room. By the way they were all lesser properties to boot after I got there and checked them out in person. The rooms were spacious, clean smelling, modern, and tastefully appointed with dark wood and light colored granite throughout. The beds and pillows were plush and there was an average sized flat screen. There was a business desk with leather chair, couch, bench, barsink, microwave, college frig and a separate living room area. The whole hotel is only a few floors high so we often took the wooden stairs down which ended up in the beautiful lobby instead of the elevator. The jacuzzi tub was the size of a pool itself. We had the whole area to ourselves. Our room jacuzzi tub was very spacious with granite walls and had jets on the wall as well for a shower at stomach level which I had never seen before. The kids popped popcorn and played in the tub all night.
As for the breakfast I do agree with previous reviews that it was quite un-inspiring. Eggs were juicy, home fries dry and sausage over done with tough skin. There was good strong coffee toast and cereal however so it was not a deal breaker to me.
Overall not sure how anyone could not like this hotel our family absolutely loved it!!!

Room Tip: Ask for room away from road as many complained of road noise.

My husband and I usually stay at 5 star hotels, so we weren't sure this was going to work out. We had a Plan B, just in case we were unhappy. However, the lure of 88,000 Club Carlson points (from a previous bonus offering) enticed us to reserve a room for two nights on the way to Philadelphia. We were pleasantly surprised. We discovered that we preferred not having to wait for a valet to bring our car, and when we asked for extra towels they were delivered immediately, by a lovely housekeeper. We skipped breakfast because the reviews in this column were mediocre, so I can't comment on that. The room was pleasantly air-conditioned, even in this hot weather, and there were two sofas and a desk. The bed was extremely comfortable. There were sufficient plugs for all computer equipment, and plenty of room for luggage and garments. Not at all what I expected, I am pleased to report.

Stayed for three nights while my husband was undergoing spinal surgery at the nearby hospital. The room was large, quiet and comfortable. The swimming pool hot tub was a godsend for the end of the stressful long days, Breakfast was excellent and filling. Room has a Jacuzzi tub. A really comfortable place to return to after staying with my husband all day. Would certainly stay again. Fairly new (2012?), clean, everything works.

We decided to stay here to cash in on the Carlson bonus promotion. The rooms were nice with a jetted tub and a spa shower. The AC worked great while the temperature hit the high 90's. The staff were courteous and the hotel was clean. Within 15 minutes to Harrahs and Borgata, I have no complaints and would stay there again .

We have stayed in at least 10 other Country Inn & Suites because we have found that on average it is a great affordable stop for a family of four with two young children. Much like the Holiday Inn was years ago, we have found that now Country Inn & Suites is very predictable/affordable in the areas of being a clean safe stop (with exception for the location in Greenfield Indiana which is way below average) with acceptable room sizes, nice staff, and good breakfast. With that being said, what you will find at this Absecon location is a great facility with about as large of room and bathroom facilities as you will find. The area around the hotel is a bit older and a little run down but the facility itself is newer (I'd guess 2011 maybe even 2012) and above average for even Country Inn & Suites. The only draw back to the location is the management. They aren't completely organized. Little things like not offering auto or early check-out so you are ready to leave but instead have to wait for them to finalize and print your receipt. And the biggest problem; they try to cut costs by offering the worst breakfast I've ever had at a Country Inn & Suites. Things like watering down the waffle batter (big no-no and actually gross and after asking them to fix it they said they would try something different the next day but of course I won't be there the next day), large community containers of milk and syrup instead of individual sizes, no fresh fruit as well as other various items not offered like biscuits and gravy or oatmeal that are usually offered at Country Inn & Suites. Overall these things aren't deal breakers for my family because it is a nice facility, but maybe if I had known that management would be a little disorganized and the breakfast would be below par my expectations would be better placed and my entire experience would be better.

Room Tip: Don't know for sure, but the highway is visible from the west side of the property so possibly a...

We were in AC for a weekend, At first we stayed at Harrah's for a couple days then stayed here for our last night.
We went in with the mindset that it would be a downgrade, but we were pleasantly surprised!
The hotel and the rooms were very clean, the rooms were spacious, the service was great, and it was absolutely not a downgrade!!
I'm always nervous about bathrooms in general, and I must say A+!!
The breakfast was also good!
It was inexpensive, and it was great!! Close enough to AC if you're driving, but they also provide a shuttle.
We would definitely stay here again :-)
