“The centre of the local community”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

The Saratoga sits on a relatively empty road in a beautiful and sparsely populated area and backs right onto the water. We were lucky to turn up on the day of the All Ireland Hurling final so the atmosphere in the pub was magic, lots of Guinness flowing and a smile and a chat from the staff. There is a good range of seasonal food and seafood is at the centre of most of it. As with much of Ireland it's not cheap but it's a marvellous setting for food, drinks and certainly the atmosphere.

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013 via mobile

The food isnt great at all and overpriced. There is music sometimes and it's in a good ocation next to the beach but I would never eat there again.

“Great value for money!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

I visited The Saratoga recently with an aunt who was on holiday in Waterford. We sat out the back which was ideal in the nice weather!
We had some fantastic mussels, monkfish scampi and a delicious homemade burger at the woodtown bistro after a lovely walk along the beach. The food was very good value for money! It's a pit the door leadin from the pub to he seating area out the back was locked - this created a bit of unnecessary running around trying to order drinks.
However it was a great day and the food was excellent. Will definitely return!

“Advance info”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

I haven't eaten or drunk at the Saratoga, but that's not for want of trying, so I've graded it average to try to be fair.

The pub and the eatery are separate businesses, although they pretty much share the premises, so you have to order food from one side and drinks from the other. I think you're supposed to learn this by osmosis. Don't go looking for a menu outside, we did and couldn't find one.

The big BEWARE is that despite the dire economy the restaurant is perfectly happy to turn away anyone who wants to eat after the ludicrously early hour of 8pm.

So if you're intent on eating at Saratoga, get there early!

“Homely atmosphere, idyllic setting,”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

On a recent visit to waterford with some friends we visited the renowned Saratoga bar and diner in Woodstown. The weather was balmy and we sat outside in the old Viking longboat overlooking the beach, what a location we could have been anywhere on the Mediterranean. Had a very enjoyable meal served by the very attentive and delightful Mary who acquainted us with the local scenic hotspots. Our memorable meal was washed down with a few pints of the best pulled guinness we had in Ireland, we can only say well done to The Saratoga you ticked all the boxes for us and we will be back at some future date. We still talk of our visit when we meet up over drinks.
