“A Great Irish B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2012

A large B&B in a pretty setting just outside of Waterford. What makes this B&B outstanding is the friendliness and helpfulness of Ben (Katie was not here the night we stayed there). I had emailed Ben with itinerary questions in advance. He responded quickly with advice that solved my travel concerns. While we were there, Ben looked over our entire itinerary and offered advice that made a difference in our three week tour. The B&B was immaculate, comfortable and very convenient for our travels. And, of course, there was a great breakfast. This was our first B&B and a welcome stay after four nights in a Dublin hotel. I wish we had a chance to meet Kate, but we will be back.

I stayed at Diamond Hill B&B for 8 nights on business. I could not have had a more perfect and enjoyable experience. Benny, Katie, and their two, absolutely darling children truly treated me like one of the family. I know the 'one of the family' gets tossed around a lot- but here, you can take it to the bank. Never overbearing, always kind and helpful, they made sure I was comfortable in every aspect of my stay. Whether I needed directions, city information, or a cold beer at the end of the night, Benny and Katie were at my service- They genuinely love what they do.
My room was clean, large, comfortable, quiet, and tasteful. An amazingly cozy and large bed greeted me every evening and a large, super strong and hot shower greeted my morning. And the breakfast was perfect! There are many choices (My favorite, of course, the full Irish!) and they serve till 11- wow! And the affordability compared to in town makes it all worth while.
Although a little bit outside of the city center, regular and on time busses were always available right outside the grounds- it takes 10 minutes to center for 1.25 Euro. Lots of parking if you drive.
Keep the locally owned and family run businesses thriving! This is B7B is a perfect example of when it is done right. Thanks guys!!

Irish hospitality at its best, Bennie and Katie offering a great B&B, I booked this last minute having been let down by a larger Waterford hotel, simply called Benny and he sorted us out double room en suite with Breakfast. In summary, friendly, clean, comfortable, quiet and good breakfast, a good option even if slightly out of town.

This was a last min. booking and was mostly based on the reviews from Trip Advisor and we are sorry to say that our experience was average at best, We were greeted by the owner and his son in a dark lobby and was led down a dark hallway up a flight of stairs to a double room ensuite with a view of 3 huge green abandoned looking factory tanks or silos of some sort. Upon driving in the B & B looked elegant with beautiful trees and statues and as ours was the only car in the parking lot other than the owner's car, you would have thought that we would have been given a room with a better view. The light over the mirror in the bathroom was out and when we went to make a cup of tea there was a half a pot of water still in the kettle and it had turned part of it green with floaties on top. We tried to rinse it out and make some tea but the tea bags in the room were the larger pot size instead of individual tea bags and we couldn't drink it. Wifi was only available in the lobby which meant going back down the dark staircase, dark hallway, and back to the dark lobby to access it. The house was totaly abandoned and felt deserted. We only met the owner and his son during our 2 day stay. There was no mention of a wife/mother. The room was large and the bathroom had a huge tub but the way that the showerhead ws positioned at the back of the tub made it difficult to stand under and eventhough we left the window in the bathroom open it still got so steamy that the tile floor became very slippery and all of our toiletries became very wet. A hairdryer was provided and there were extra pillows in the room. The bed was fairly comfortable and there was plenty of hot water for the shower. The breakfast room was very nice with stain glass light fixtures but we sat in the dark the first morning and the lights were turned on during breakfast the second morning. There was a menu on the table indicating fruits, cereals, and a full Irish breakfast, however, nothing was offered to us except the Irish breakfast. We did get a small cup of orange juice but no refills were offered. Also the owner appologized when breakfast was served as he had run out of bacon. If it wasn't for all the toast and tea we probably would have left hungry each morning. The host and his son were nice enough but we were clearly the only ones staying as no one else was in the breakfast room but us. By the end of the meal on the second morning he seemed anxious that we leave. The B & B was elegant but very dark and gloomy. Next time in Waterford we will look for another place to stay. Just one quick side note, the owner went above and beyond to suggest things to see and do even though we had told him we had been to Ireland a few times before and had not asked for any advice.

Great place to stay if you're in the Waterford area. Just outside the busy city centre, so it's quiet, but still very accessible. Benny and Katie were very friendly and helpful in suggesting spots to see in our day trips. You can't go wrong here.

My wife and I stayed at Diamond Hill Country House on April 19 & 20, 2012 and were very impressed at the large, very clean and comfortable room and the friendliness and helpfulness of owners Benny and Katie. The breakfasts were great and the location of the Diamond Hill Guest House was close enough to Waterford (10 mins. to downtown), yet just far enough out to feel like you were living in the country. Bennie was so helpful with advice on what to see and do in Waterford and in many other parts of Ireland as well. We highly recommend Diamond Hill Country House and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thanks Benny and Katie for making us feel so welcome!

Room Tip: The upstairs rooms offer lots of space and privacy.

How fortunate we were to pick Diamond Hill to start our Irish holiday! Clean, relaxing, quaint; a beautiful location with fabulous hosts who can't do enough for their guests. But wait, there's more! We wanted to take in as much of Ireland as possible in 10 short days but didn’t want to drive and weren’t prepared to endure a “bus tour” so when we booked our room, Benny recommended we try their ‘private’ tour company. My wife & I, along with 2 other couples, were treated to an incredible tour of southern Ireland with Benny as our driver and guide extrordiaire. Benny was flexible in what we wanted to do and see but made sure we saw the true highlights of Ireland. We ate, drank and slept in wonderful places for a very reasonable price and thoroughly enjoyed what will remain one of our all time favorite holidays. Thanks Benny & Katie!
