We spent two nights at this castle in Southern Estonia, close to the Latvian border. The setting is marvellous, the castle sits on a hill in the middle of a park with nice lawns, walkways and old trees. The village is small but cute and there's even a little lake. When you get closer to the hotel you see, that the outside needs new paint. The inside is filled with heavy furniture and many hunting trophies, but the atmosphere is very pleasant. There are two storeys with the guest rooms - we had our room upstairs and had a view of the park and we liked that. The rooms are very large but old fashioned. We had a lino floor, I've never seen that in a hotel room. The beds were comfortable but the bedding was too small and in the morning you ended up sleeping on the bare mattress, and that's not something that I like. There are not many options in the region and probably one of the best - still, I wouldn't stay there again and would spend the night in Tartu or Viljandi.
