“Wonderful!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

We had a wonderful time at Paul and Barbara's. The house is beautiful, the facilities very comfortable and the hosts were very kind and helpful to us. We felt very much at home! It's a highly recommendable place to make a quiet stopover on the Franch coast of Normandy.

Thank you for your kind comments and we are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. We don't receive many guests from Argentina, perhaps next year we will.

Stayed for one night on the 7th September 2012. Extremely comfortable and well-appointed room. Welcoming hosts and great views over the Baie de Somme. Free wi-fi. Much better option than one of the local hotels and very well situated.

Only quibble: no mirror in the bedroom.

Highly recommended.

This bed & breakfast hotel also has a 3 bedroom cottage ( gite) in the garden. It is ideal for a family with enough room for 6 to 8 people. It also has a large living area with a modern kitchen available. The windows of this room overlook the extensine garden.
Breakfast is served in the main hotel, and it is a very good continental spread.
The cottage is less than 50 yards from the promenade of this lovely Town,
It is owned by an English couple, so there is no language difficulties.

Room Tip: Ask for the cottage, it is really very good.

We stayed in the self catering cottage for 5 nights from 6 August 2012. The cottage is extremely well kitted out and the rooms are quite large with on suite facilities including good size showers (no poking about in this place). The ramparts of the medieval town are adjacent to the property and the garden stretches to the promenade adjacent to the estuary.Paul and Barbara, the owners, are extremly friendly and on hand should you need any assistance or local advice. St Valery is a beautiful location both the medieval town and the fishing port with a few bars and resturants to sustain you. A visit to the walled garden in the old town is an absolute must.Whilst we visited locations as far as Boulogne, Le Touquet and Arras there is enough to keep you occupied without getting in the car including a lovely trip on the steam train to Le Crotoy. Don't forget to take your bicycle as there are lovely cycle tracks in the bay area.We certainly intend to return.

We spent the new year in France with friends, staying at Bois Fontaine.

The views over the bay from the room and the breakfast area are amazing and the hosts are very welcoming and knowlegable about the local area.

Room was very comfortble and well appointed and the breakfast was good.

Looking forward to visiting St Valery again and staying at Bois Fontaine.

This place has superb views over the bay and gardens and is the ideal place to relax and unwinde. If you need to stay in touch with your business or friends the free Internet does make it so easy and hustle free. The hotel does not have a restaurant but the owners Paul and Barbara gave us many good tips of very good restaurants just a few minutes walk from the hotel. I enjoyed the very personal service and the breakfast was superb. Can't wait to get back.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2011

Stayed here in September 2010 on the way back to the ferry. We were surprised how lovely Saint-Valery-sur-Somme was, and the good choice of eating places. It certianly warrants a few days in the area.
The Bed and Breakfast was very much part of a family home, with lovely views over the garden and the bay. Our room was small, but adequate for one night, we would have struggled if staying longer. Beds were comfy, with good quality linen and towels. Car parking was on a public car park, requiring payment, we had to run out early in the morning to place more money in the machine. Breakfast was good, served in the family kitchen / living area.
I would have scored this higher if our room had been larger, and we didn't have the hassle with the car park.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view over the garden
