I spent a long weekend here with my family two weeks ago. I'd been in Macedonia on business, and my husband and daughter flew over to join me for a holiday in Greece. We wanted to see Mount Olympus, and so we chose Litohoro as our destination, and we chose this hotel based on TripAdvisor reviews. The premises themselves are outstanding. We stayed in one of the villas with a small private pool, and the splurge was worth the price -- the room was beautifully furnished, with a spacious jacuzzi and the delight of our own private place to swim and relax. The two main pools, right out the door of the villa, were also lovely. We also very much enjoyed the efficient room service meals, and the use of the two indoor pools (one with sauna and the other with hamam).
However, there were a few downsides. The main one: the villas face the main pools, and each evening a live band played VERY LOUD music from around 9 PM - 2 AM. Sleep was for us absolutely impossible because of this. It was therefore very difficult especially for my husband and daughter, who were dealing with jet lag, having just arrived in Europe. So if you want to sleep during those hours, please do not choose one of the villas, or one of the regular hotel rooms that face the pool! The music will be much too loud for you to sleep through it. I called the front desk around midnight on our first night to find out how much longer the music would continue, and they were apologetic but offered us no solution or remedy of any kind. (They did permit us a late checkout on our last day, but they charged us 40 Euros for it.)
The breakfast buffet was just average, and the dinner buffet was really not worth the price at all. Definitely plan to take a taxi (10 minutes, about 10 Euros) into the village of Litohoro, up on the mountain, for dinners. There are many lovely restaurants there, in a very pleasant surrounding.
Also, for the price, I felt that the room did not offer some basic amenities. For example, there was no soap provided except for shower gel, and there were no facial tissues at all. Wireless internet service was spotty, and slow when it did work.
Overall, our experience here would have been very highly rated, but the unexpected surprise of the loud, late-night music marred what would otherwise have been a very positive experience.
