“Great days hunting for goodies”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

Was brought here is Feb but sadly due to the cold weather at the time many places were closed. So this time i was thrilled to see everything open and believe me its like an adladins cave. The cafe on the top floor has great views and the menu is very reasonably priced. Be prepared to spend hours hunting for treasures, great fun and a great venue.

“A quaint little place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

Battlesbridge is a quaint antiques and craft centre n essex. Great for an afternoon out with cafes shops and two lovely pubs with great food. The Hawk and The Barge. Great for strolling around in the sunshine and even in bad weather go inside and browse so many antiques crafts and furniture

“Not so much antiques as old toot!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

Antiques have certainly changed since I used to browse the odd antique shop. It was more of car boot sales without the car boot. Lots of old toot from house clearances - we even saw a pair of rusty ol washing tongs - my Mum had a pair of these with her old twin tub! All in all, a little disappointing.

“Great way to spend an afternoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

Battlesbridge has many antique & collector shops. The mill is on several floors and also sells pine furniture - there is a small cafe at the very top which has lovely views over the river - nice for a coffee / very good fry up breakfast! It was very chilly when we visited - they could do with upgrading the source of heating - would only eat their in the warmer months.
Throughout the village there are other antique shops - just wander through & discover.
The Barge opposite the mill is a lovely restaurant - The Hawk just up the road a friendly pub that does good pub grub.

“Good range of antiques, furniture, paintings- bargains to be had”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

We go to quite a few antiques centres and Battlesbridge is a firm favourite. It is set over 3 floors with a lot of furniture on most of them. It is particularly good for wood furniture, prices vary but there are generally some well priced items. We find that paintings can often be overpriced in antiques centres but the ones at Battlesbridge are usually very reasonable.

Definitely a good browse with a lot less tat than other local antiques centres. Toilets located in the garden section and there is a tearoom for light refreshments.

Thank you for your positive review. However you only mention the one building so I suspect you may not be fully aware of the other shops and warehouses at The Battlesbridge Antiques Centre. The Old Granary is only one of several old and period buildings at Battlesbridge with over 70 outlets selling a very wide range of antiques, vintage and reproductions. Check out Cromwell House, Muggeridge Farm and Bones Lane on your next visit. Regards, Jim Gallie
