“Very good accommodation and walks!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

Very well appointed accommodation , simple but good. Yes, Ken does a great trip, very nice operators, Ken and Maree. They obviously know the park and walks really well and organize everything for you. Was really nice weather for us as well.

“Nice walk, knowledgeable guide”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

We took the "Paddle me home" tour, guided by Ken and then Kahu Kayaks. We had a group of four, including me and my husband and my parents. Ken was a lovely gentleman, who was incredibly experienced, knowledgeable and knew how to suit the walk and conversation to our group. Following a short bus trip to the water taxi and a very crammed water taxi ride with a number of kayakers from a different group, we arrived at our starting point for the walk.

The Abel Tasman National park is very beautiful and the easy walk allowed for many stops and chats. Maree also packed us a nice sandwich lunch and chocolate muffin to keep up energy levels. The real highlight though was the kayak back, which included paddling around a little island home to baby seals (at the time).

Would definitely recommend this trip if you want a bit of guidance and want to see a few things in just one day.

I am so pleased you all enjoyed your day and had so much fun kayaking.
It doesn't matter how many times I kayak amongst the seals they always give me a buzz.
Thank you for taking the time to review us and I hope the rest of your trip went as well. Maree

“Give yourself a wonderful treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

This full day guided tour with Ken, was definitely one of the highlights of our NZ trip. It started back in DK where we had a lot of friendly communication with Maree. Such lovely persons both of them. The walk trough the rainforrest was spectacular and the views from the path overlooking Stillway Bay was out of this world. As if this wasn´t enough to make our day, Ken invited us to have a cup of tea at his beach house. Ken is very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna as well of the history of the area, so we learned a lot in between small talk of family and jobs, almost like meeting up with an old friend.
Do bring your camera, good shoes and water. Ken and Maree were providing trail snack and a yummy, yummi lunch, best sandwich I´v ever had.
We were handed over to the kayak people safely, refreshed and on time.
After lunch we had a lovely and oh so funny trip with kayak people. Drifting "home" with 3 other kayaks and with an improvised sail. Great fun, but do bring easy drying clothes. we didn´t and our shorts were very heavy :-)

“Do not miss Abel Tasman National Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

I am so glad that I went to Abel Tasman National Park.
It was on one of those winter days in June (2010), but when we arrived, luckily the day was forecasted to be a clear sunny one.
I only managed to do one single walk from the nearest port back to the main street down to our accomodation area.
The coastline was really beautiful.
I liked seeing a small fountain here and there, just like in the Lord of The Ring movie.
I even met an original mushroom which seen on a cartoon movie - unforgettable occasion!
The sceneries to the sea from above and were just amazing!

“an excellent personalised walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2012

We enjoyed a fairly leisurely walk into the Abel Tasman Park courtesy of Greg. The coastline is really beautiful and the views from the track are excellent. Greg was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna and wasn't too demanding about the pace though we had to time our arrival at the lunch spot to fit in with the tides (as access to the beach was an issue) and the water taxi that had been booked to pick us up. The family bach was the venue for a delicious lunch that had been prepared by Maree. As we were enjoying the walk Greg suggested we disembark from the taxi a little way up the coast so that we could complete another section of the track, and he then arranged for the taxi to pick us up again later. It was a lovely day but I recommend lots of insect repellent!

Thank you John and Maggie for taking the time to review us. We are pleased you enjoyed your walk and stay with us on our 'Abel Tasman Getaway' Package. The beauty of our personal guided walks are that they are flexible and can be taylored to suit our clients. Alas, I wish we could do the same for the sandflies!
