“Brilliant foody find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2012 via mobile

Huge portions, fresh food, great service, Amazing views, gd wine/beer selection, amazing looking pizzas (wish we'd been able to fit one in!) and good value. We had the oysters, lamb shank, chicken avocado salad, brownie, orange cake, 3 drinks each and the bill only came to $130-great! Go for the local $7 wine-it's v gd.

“Poor service and pricey”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2011

I was on a tour and a group of us arrived on time to our reservation at The Park Cafe. It was Easter Sunday and there were about 10 of us. We entered the restaurant, thinking maybe we would get a "Happy Easter" or "Good Evening," instead the man at the host stand, (whom I assume was the owner) looked at us a said "Oh f***. Then ran into the kitchen. I couldn't believe it! A waitress came out a few minutes later, who was not very polite either. The food wasn't anything to brag about... One of the girls ordered a meat lasagna, which had barley any minced meat. She brought it to the waitresses attention, who went to no lengths to solve the problem. Another person didn't receive his food until everyone was almost finished. The serivce was very poor. I ordered a steak sandwich and it wasn't bad. I would highly reccommend passing this place up and instead eating at The Fat Tui across the road. Friendly staff, GREAT food, and good value for your money!

“Great location and pizza.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2011

Visited in March 2011, and visited the Park Cafe two nights in a row. The woodfired pizzas are really tasty and brought us back for a second night. It is in an incredible location.

Service was of mixed quality, one waitress provided her own anti-itch cream to my girlfriend who had been bitten by every sandfly in Abel Tasman, while one waiter spilled water on our table and thought it was funny.

There is a good bar, and a band played on the saturday night and had the whole place dancing away.

“Lovely view but service needs improving”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2011 via mobile

This cafe is perfectly positioned on the edge of the National Park and has good indoor & outdoor seating with views. The food was fine but the wait staff need to be better organized. They are very friendly but seemed to lack direction, doubling up when it came to ordering, then very hard to find when you needed them. Our drinks took about 25 mins to arrive! We left after the mains as dessert menu failed to eventuate. This place has great potential and with better service would be terrific.

“Attracts Great People!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2010

I worked in this area for 6 months and the park cafe was thee place to be. Everyone comes together for after work drinks, live music always creates a brilliant atmosphere and it's a great place to sit and gaze at the view. Good Beer :)
