We were visiting relatives in Seaton and after a long drive from Essex Dave & Gill gave us a friendly warm welcome when we arrived on a bitterly cold snowy weekend in late Feb 2013. There lovely house has an ideal seafront location, I could sit in bed with a cuppa and watch the sea from my second floor room at the side of the house
My parents were lucky to be the first to have the newly refurbished room and en-suite on the first floor which was modern and comfortable with great showe, heated towel rail etc.
I wasn't so lucky and had one of the older style rooms although it was still modern and very clean, with flat screen TV,tea/coffee,biscuits even shower gel and handwash which was a nice touch. The only downside for me was that my room was not that warm and there was no radiator in the bathroom either,I turned up the bedroom radiator thermostat but it was still chilly and as the heating went off at night I found it cold in bed until I found the spare blanket. I also found my bed very hard and the pillows thin so I didn't actually sleep very well, but then I am a fussy sleeper and do really like a soft mattress and plump pillows.
Maybe I should have mentioned it to Dave & Gill as they couldn't have been more helpful when I told them that the water temperature in my shower was not very warm on the first night. Dave looked at the shower that day and I had a lovely hot shower in the evening.
You couldn't fault the breakfast which had a great choice of cereals, porridge, juices, fruit, egg, bacon, toast etc (even kippers) whatever you wanted really.
I would really recommend the Beaumont for the location the hosts hospitality and cleanliness of the place and would definately stay there again, but maybe not in the winter next time.
Ask for one of the newly refurbished rooms.
