called in on the off chance that we could get a table and we werent dissapointed, my wife had the lamb chops with mashed potato and veg which she loved, i had the mixed grill which was cooked to perfection, i couldnt eat it all there was that much, that said, i had to have the pudding to just finish me off, so all in all , a perfect meal for a perfect wedding anniversary. i would like to include the staff as well who made you feel most welcome,

“Excellent food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013 via mobile

Our party of 9 - birthday celebration - ate here and we were not disappointed. All of our meals and desserts were perfect as you would expect from a chef that dispairs when anybody asks for a well done steak. I had the sea bass fillet special and it was the best sea bass i have tasted for quite some time. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the vicinity and looking for somewhere to eat.

“Steak all the way”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

This restaurant has a good reputation for its meat and a varied menu selection. Having eaten steak here on practically every visit, this selection of steak was no different and I ordered the ribeye cooked medium rare. Although I would normally have ordered this particular cut of meat medium, the previous visit's steak was served on a hot plate, which overcooked the cut a little. I therefore went down a cooking grade but the hot plate wasn't very hot so the meat was undercooked a little for my liking.

The atmosphere of the establishment is warm and countrified. The bar area has tables just offset so you can either prop up the bar or opt for a more comfortable drinking experience. The real ale selection is fantastic and the wine selection makes a great accompaniment to the meal.

With a relatively small but selected menu, The Brownlow Inn has something for everybody.

“Fantastic evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

We celebrated our daughter's 21st birthday here on Sat 19th Jan 2013, there were eighteen of us ranging from 6 to 73 in age and there was a good choice of food for everyone. All the food came out at the same time time and everyone's was hot, we've been to plenty of other places where they can't manage this with with only seven of us. All the food was really nice and portions huge. They even provided an extra table for the enormous bithday cake we brought with us and provided knives to cut it and plenty of plates for evaryone to eat their cake from even though this meant less sweets ordered. All the staff were lovely and helped to make it a really good evening for all of us, we'll definately come here again
