“A nice quiet place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

A very nice new premier inn on the west side of Llanelli. The carpark was clean, The reception area was very neat and tidy and staffed by a very polite and competent young lady. The room whilst the last one on the ground floor next to the restaurant was perfact nice and quiet. After my evening meal a short chat with the young lady revealed that she was not just a receptionis but was the manager. Whilst the brewers fayre next door was hectic the staff were again professional and nothing was too much. Maybe it did help offering to get a coffee for one harrased young lady both the evening and breakfast meals were what I have come to expect with whitbreads. The hotel well that was in a different league. My only regret was and it will be rectified next time I am in South Wales is I had only booked one night when i could have completed all planned task from this one location

Hotel in fantastic location, as with all Premier Inns, rooms spotless, great showers, poor restaurants next door.
Only moan we had about the hotel was the windows don't open, I know there was air con, but its not the same as being able to open a window on a warm night.
The breakfasts served to us by our waitress Ann were fantastic, no help yourself buffet hereI'm pleased to say, and she kept smiling even though she was run off her feet, but the evening meals were very mediocre to say the least.
We were in the restaurant at 8.15 pm and the Curry Night buffet was already finished and there's nothing to say about the meals we had except they filled a gap and the second night we didn't bother and went elsewhere.

This Premier Inn is ideally placed near the Sustrans cycle route (Celtic Trail). It has bicycle parking outside, and is also easy to cycle to from the Railway Station. It is also near the Milleneum path which is a nice are to walk along the coast.

You get the normal Premier Inn standard facilities and decor, but easily sufficient room, very comfortable beds, and spotlessly clean.

The receptionist was lovely, and couldn't have been more helpful. The pub next door was fine too, and it was lovely to sit over looking the lake in the rare moment of sunshine. At breakfast the waitress was very efficient and helpful too.

We booked early and got a very good room rate, and would definitely do so again if we are in the area.

Perfect location, 5 mins walk from the coast, plenty of free parking and professional staff although not as pleasant as previous Premier Inns we've stayed at.

Same could not be said of the Sandpiper restaurant next door, a complete shambles from morning to close. Breakfast was good first day although service was poor which was the same on the evening, no organisation what so ever then 2nd day, waited 30mins plus even though it wasn't that busy for the cooked breakfast to arrive and wish we hadn't bothered.

Kids boiled egg was raw and the english breakfast plate was swimming in black dirty oil which the bacon & sausages were cooked in.
Brought another one which was just the same.

Would recommend staying here although there's not much around the area but excellent value at £29 per night for a family room.

At the time of writing, this hotel was just 16 weeks old - so everything was clean and fresh as you'd expect. Pleasingly, this extended to the staff on duty, who were the perfect balance of friendly professionalism and efficient brand droids.
The last minute price of this stay (£99), puts this way above budget hotels - and, this time, deservedly so.
My only critisism is for the modern trend of hermatically sealed - fixed windows, which leave the room feeling airless and claustraphobic.

When arriving for a 4 night stay on business I always reserve judgement about hotels on arrival. This hotel is a nice Premier Inn, clean, well equipped with a vending machine to make up for the lack of biscuits on the refreshments tray in the room. So, first impressions were - its good.

As the week went on the service got better and better and exceeded my expectations. Reception staff always acknowledged my arrival on a morning and on my return from work with a pleasant 'how was your day' or 'how was your breakfast'. Nothing was too much trouble.

Breakfast is served in the Sandpiper Pub a few metres away and again - the service was beyond that I have experienced in some 4* hotels. The staff really notch this hotel up a few stars. Friendly, down to earth, helpful and approachable. A great breakfast- excellent porridge and very good coffee.

The location of this hotel is great- about 3 miles from the town centre, a 10 minute pleasant walk to the beach (although the sea was miles away from the beach when I visited it) and a lovely pond/lake to look out onto from the beer garden. Loads of parking and easy to find.

I would recommend this hotel without reservation- credit to the staff who really make this hotel feel somewhere like home. Thanks.

Room Tip: Maybe ask for a car on the beach side of the hotel- it is a struggle to see it but might be better t...

This a new Premier Inn which is best I have stayed in,it is perfectly situated just by a lake and just over the hill wasa most beautiful bay.
The hotel was staffed by friendly receptionists and was spotlessly clean.
Highly recommended
