“Best place in Lausanne Area!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

for me the Bourg 7 in Lutry is the best place in Lausanne aera. The owner and the staff are so friendly, when they say "Home away from home" it is true we just get this impression...
I do really recommend this place and thank them for their warm welcome.

We usually stay in "Hotel Le Rivage", which is nice (but make sure you have a room facing the lake)but this time somebody must have smoked in the room and it was impossible to stay there. No possibility to change room as the hotel was sold out.The owner of the hotel then fixed us in Le Bourg 7, even paid the difference of Sfr 100(!!)and led us personally to the Le Bourg 7.(Room price in Le Rivage Sfr. 180 incl.Breakfast, in Le Bourg 280)
We were given an "appartment" (room 2)(but this I wld call a room with a kitchenette)with a small garden in front, which would be quite nice, but a)it was too cold to sit outside and b)there is a bar right next to the little garden. Noise(till closing time) and smokers! not what I really want in my holidays.
There was a coffee machine and you can buy the pads at reception for Sfr 1 EACH. That is really overpriced. Breakfast: well not bad, but micro portions. When we asked for a soft boiled egg, we got it after 10 minutes, and were charged Sfr 3.50 each. Toast 1 cut in two for the two of us and one 10gram cube of butter, wow!
All in all. The design of the room is quite nice, although is terribly cold in the bathroom, because you cannot shut the window completely. But if you want to stay and enjoy your stay, sorry, we would not recommend it because for that price you get something better.

Room Tip: If you can help it, don't go there!

We are sorry for you that you didn't enjoy your stay.
We are not of the kind to criticize clients as in the hotel business the first thing they teach us is that "the customer is always right". Well unfortunately for you, this is the first time in my career that I think this sentence definitely does not apply to you. I can tell you, we would have rather you stayed at the Rivage, but as you said in your comment you also where as annoying with them as you where with us, and not only they had to send you away but where even kind enough to paid for the difference. For your information our double rooms are 220chf and juniors are chf 290!
The room you had was number 1 and not number 2, and there is no bar next to the room but the is a small terrace for a small restaurant next to us which closes at 21h.
As you said that IT was so cold outside, i dont see how the terrace with people smoking outside could annoy you since apparently you where not even outside. Not only you annoyed the Rivage and tey had to move you, but apparently if people smoke outside, it's also a problem for you. I really think next time you should consider just stay in your own home!. As for the heating in the bathroom, please note there is a radiator but I guess you didn't manage to turn the handle to turn it on or even ask one of us to do it for you as its always easier to complain later on about it!
For the eggs. I am guessing you don't cook much at home but an egg takes 3-5 minutes to cook, so we do apologize for taking 5 minutes between taking your order and bring it to the table. Maybe you have a solution for hoteliers for instant boiled eggs?! Never heard about it though. The breakfast consists of a buffet and all bread and pastries you can serve yourselves as much as you want, but from your comments it must be like the heating, smoking and all you other unfounded comments......soooo much easier not to say anything and complain later when there absolutely no need.
As for the capsules, you actually have 3 free in your room and the cost of a capsule is 60cents, I am guessing you don't own a business or are business oriented when you say the capsules are overpriced at 1chf!!
Basically for the first time ever i would like to say i do hope not to see you again and please stop waisting hoteliers time and consider just staying at home!

Geneva was the start of our are travel around Switzerland. We looked for hotels a little bit outside the main cities to explore small Swiss towns.
It was our luck (and a few positive Tripadvisor reviews) that we booked our stay at this hotel, what a find! The service has been impeccable with Charlotte doing her very best to make our stay and holiday as easy as possible by providing helpful suggestions. The rooms are compact but furnished to a very high standard and impeccably maintained. The breakfast is high quality. The township is quaint and is superbly clean, its got to be experienced, my words will not do justice to the feel of the town. There are very good restaurants and bars around. The foreshore is 100 metres away approximately and is really beautiful.
If you are looking to get off the beaten track into something really exquisite, I would recommend this.
Lutry is well connected to Lausanne by train, so getting around is pretty easy.

This is a beautifully designed boutique hotel. We stayed for two nights with our two children in a room with a sofa bed in the living area and a separate bedroom. We loved the design aspects of this hotel but would like to advise other families that this room was very, very small. So small in fact that by the time we were leaving we were actually happy to move on and find somewhere bigger.
Besides this, the hotel staff are lovely and extremely helpful. They all speak great English and were happy to give us snippets of information and advice. Eating out in this area is very expensive but it is such a beautiful little village.

By the way, we were right in front of the bells and they did not bother our sleeping at all...in fact it all added to the beautiful ambience. This is a lovely place for couples and we loved the nespresso too!

We have stayed in Le Bourg 7 one night over the Easter Weekend 2013 and on the day of arrival were absolutely charmed by Lutry village and, especially, by design and beauty of the hotel. The reception area and our room were made in a fancy modern style, which combined exquisite furnishing with practicability (Junior Suite No. 6, where we stayed, would be perfect both for a romantic getaway but also for family with kid(s) - there was an additional room with a sofa, TV, kitchenette and Nespresso machine, which was separated from main room with a sliding door). The employee of the hotel (Alexander) informed us that the breakfast will be served the next morning till 10am but it is also ok to come till 11am since at that time Sunday brunch will start.
On the next morning we came for breakfast at 10:30 and were completely shocked by the "hospitality" of Alexander, who hardly noticed us and only after some time offered us some black coffee (with two spoons and several pieces of sugar). We were sitting like this for some time hoping that our table will be served and we will be offered either our breakfast (included into CHF 310 room price) or at least brunch. Alexander was totally busy making pancakes for two other guests and ignored us for at least 15 minutes (we were sitting one meter from him and he could at least let us know that he will take care of us when he finishes with other order or propose to us some jam, butter or other things that do not require cooking and which serving does not take more than a minute). When I finally approached him and asked for some croissants or bread he said that he will serve us when he finishes with pancakes. Another ten minutes we were waiting, upon which he started warming up croissants and they were finally served to us without plates, napkins, knifes, butter, jam. Although I addressed him always in English (since I don't speak French) he was always talking to me in French (however the day before he showed perfect knowledge of English). We don't know what was the reason for magical transformation of Alexander and why his previous friendliness turned into such a cold and unwelcoming attitude. We felt extremely uncomfortable throughout the whole breakfast and this spoiled our overall impression from the hotel (which otherwise would be very positive). We would also like to note a very nice boutique in the hotel where we have bought several beautiful pieces for reasonable price. We would like to come back but next time with a more guest friendly service....

Thank you for your comment. We are happy to hear that you loved our hotel and decoration but sadden to hear about the service you received.
We have spoken to the person in question and he assures me that is a matter of a misunderstanding. We have worked with him for quite some time now and he has shown to be an excellent employee both with his colleagues and specially greatly appreciated by our guest who only have positive things to say about him.
We are sorry that this was not reflected in the service that morning but we can assure you that its just a misunderstanding.
Breakfast is served till 10am which we unfortunately have to keep restricted since brunches start at 11am, however we would have been more than happy to served you brunch, but i think he though you just wanted to have a coffee, reason why he didn't serve you any bread or croissants.
We apologise for this and hope it hasn't leaved a negative impression of Le Bourg 7 and we hope to have the pleasure to welcome you in the future so that we can show you that we stand out for our friendly service.
thank you again for having taken the time to leave a comment.
Kind Regards

Was given a very nice room, well decorated and equipped.
Unfortunately, the church is exactly next door and therefore my sleep was interrupted every quarter hour... Oropax are a must unless you wear a hearing aid which you can remove at night.

Room Tip: Insist on a room opposite to the church
