“Saltburn and Saltburn Pier”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

We had a lovely afternoon at Saltburn the sea front is now being built up and has been been done with great taste, the fish and chips along the front are really delicious, and the Pier was a lovely walk, A new old fashioned sweet shop has opened up on the front and the lift is a god send for older people, the views are great when the sun is shining

“Victorian resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

A first visit for us to Saltburn so not knowing what to expect. The place was quite quiet (good) easy to park near to valley garden. A short walk to the pier with a selection of cafes, ice cream and sweet shops and tea rooms on the way. The pier itself was surprisingly long. No shops or amusement arcades on the pier itself, so it was unspoilt.
I had a quick meal in the café near the pier which was very good both for value and quality. I then had a look around the town and the amazing thing was how quiet it was, also how easy it was to find parking on the street. The town was clean and had all the things you could want. All in all a very nice place to visit, especially if you like peace and quiet.

“All you could want and more!”

Clean, safe, brilliant place to watch fantastic sunsets, lovely views of cliffs and sea, great connection with the sea, good waves/sea activity to watch as well as distant shipping. Knitted decorations an interesting feature

“Victorian Pier”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

Great day out, lovely walk along the pier watching the surfers and the fisherman, surrounded by a beautiful beach, great ice cream, arcade at the end for young and old. You also get to see the fabulous creations of the mysterious knitter. Great Victorian Cliff lift to make access easier to get to the town.

“Best loo's on the east coast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

Lovely quiet resort, not a great deal to do but having sampled all the other resorts on the East coast over the last few weeks, the public toilets on the sea front opposite the pier were absolutely 10 out of 10...more like hotel toilets not the usual smelly festering dumps like the public loo's at Whitby are, which to be honest let Whitby down.
Good pier to walk along, lots of crocheted objects tied to the railings which were lovely to look at.
Excellent beach which seems to go on for miles!
Funicular railway that takes you up the cliff for £1 if you can't do the very steep steps.
An enjoyable day out in the sun.
