“Diamond in the Rough”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2012

L'Isola di Rosa is truly a hidden gem. For those wishing to get away and enjoy a peaceful and relaxing environment with excellent service, this is the place! A getaway with no TV and no Telephone in the rooms is a dream come true in today's society. At L'Isola di Rosa service is always of the utmost importance. Hostess Angela always offers a solution with a genuine want to please. She really makes you feel at home and welcomed. The setting is absolutely breathtaking and guarantees to slows down the fast-paced life we live in today. The hardest thing about staying at L'Isola di Rosa is having to leave! Many thanks to the wonderful and welcoming people who helped make our experience here so very memorable. See you next time!

- Michael

1) All the windows in all of the establishment needed cleaning inside and out
2) The bathroom towels were worn out and one had a hole
3) Bidet in the bathroom had a hair in it
4) Ridiculous jacuzzi room that cost 60 Euros for two was already full up with [far too] hot water and we spent most of the time running the cold tap to cool it down
5) Indoor swimming pool was "closed"
6) Room was noisy, due to the fact that there was a fan system ventilating an open fire in another adjoining room
7) The dinner portions, although tasty, were a bit on the small side for the price
8) The massage however, was excellent

Hello Mr./Mrs.,
Why did you ask for a "light dinner" and then you say tasty but poor? You could ask for a "normal dinner"...it's possible!
Why did not you call the person responsible for problems? In a minute he would solve!
The Hammam has water at 38 degrees automatically, if too hot...in a moment we could freshen up.
As provided in the conditions of the hotel, the services must be booked in time (I am also referring to the indoor pool).
For some people we're the place of the world (exaggerated?) For others the opposite (exaggerated?)

A beautiful rural hotel chosen for its spa and relaxation centre which didn't exist when I checked in! Astonished to find empty jacuzzi room, empty indoor swimming pool, only 3 pieces of equipment in gym (all the same) and no massage or spa facility - nothing like the pictures advertised on the hotel website. When enquiring if they were available I was told "sorry no"! If I had been advised prior to my arrival that these things were not in use and unavailable I would have cancelled my stay here as this hotel was chosen on the basis of their availability. Please bear in mind this was peak season and nothing was available except for the outdoor pool, of which I had to ask for a ladder to be put into the pool and the filtration device removed so I could have a swim. No welcome basket or bottled water in our room upon arrival. All water has to be purchased from the hotel. There is no menu as such - only one meal option being a set starter, main course and ice cream. Food is very elegantly presented but MINISCULE portions.

Dear Helen

you have liked the beauty of our hotel and the good food, but your vote is 0.000? we ask how is it possible?

before you book, you verified that all services are offered only on reservation ... as written on our web site: indoor pool, massage, bath and all services are offered on reservation.

anything you do not have booked.

you have photographed the outdoor pool closed for cleaning of course, in a day with wind, rain and sun.

you have photographed the indoor pool closed to the public with maintenance work in progress, you came in the pool without our permission.

you do not have visited our wellness center, you have not asked massage or bath or steam bath.

other guests have booked and used the services listed, and they have also writing good reviews on tripadvisor...

Dear young Helen, i expect your quick response reliable.

The hotel rises in the middle of a neat and clean rural estate and has wide landescapes in front of it. Cozy, intimate, rooms with a strange african safari lodge feeling in the room decor, familiar but not invasive.
Few kilometers away from the centre of beautiful Cerveteri village. Not easy to find, better check the map itinerary before going.
Ideal for a break-out relax or romantic escape.

Isola di Rosa is a hidden gem in the hills just north of Rome. Tho road to it is unpaved and gives you the experience that you are truly away from it all. We (family with two kids 10 and 14 years old) stayed here in July for one night. Our dinner (we made a reservation for this on forehand just to be sure) was served on the terras with a splendid view of the hills, the sea and the sunset). Don't expect your standard pizza's and pastas here. We had rabbit , the kids had lamb and we alle enjoyed our food immensely (Go figure, our kids usually will opt for something safe as chicken nuggets with fries, but they liked this!).
On the downside we would have to say that though the room had a very nice mezzanine with queen bed, the sleeping arrangement for the kids were very dark and a bit unnerving. So much that we offered the queen bed to the kids and chose to sleep in their " cubicle" instead. When our neighbours arrived later that night we noticed that the walls were very thin, but luckily they went to sleep soon, so peace was restored in paradise.
I would say the room was a tad over priced. All by all though: the enchanting location, very friendly staff and wonderful meal, made for a great experience. Don't forget to visit the Etruscan Necropolis of Ceveteri: simply amazing!

Great place to relax, especially for couples, once you've survived the 2km drive up the dirt track to the door. Great setting and food, with figs picked straight off the trees for breakfast. Don't expect TV or wireless though

This romantic and warm Heaven is hereby one of my favourites in Italy. We spent 3 days just relaxing by the sea, sitting by the fireplace, had our dinner served in the romantic suite - enjoyed the sunset in the sea... Very friendly and serviceminded owners - A place to come back to anytime of the year.
