We booked our all inclusive holidays with Neckermann, and this hotel, Corfu Island, was actually the best choice we had during the last 4 years! Absolutely amazing: fantastic hotel, friendly staff, tasty food, 5 swiming pools -3 for those wishing active holidays, and 2 more calm. Staff was smiling and helpful (in greek way, but that's the national mentality), even the cleaning ladies were chatting with kids, at the restaurant they always rememberes our particular needs, wishes, local people friendly and open.. If you smile and try to chat even if you do not know greek, people will smile and chat to you! Animation was good also, especially activities for children. Rooms were spacious, we booked simple room, but as it was on the 3rd floor we had the see view, good isolation between rooms. POssible that this hotel wouldn't be so perfect for single travellers, but couples and families definetely can enjoy it. We would definetely recommend this hotel for others and we would come back again too.

  • Liked — spacious romms and good isolation
  • Disliked — hotel has a lot of stairs: difficult to get around with a pram for the baby - the only thing why it is not suitable for disables or elderly people with walking problems

we were a bit scared at first to booked with marbella corfu hotel, but every thing changed when we arrived there.Amazing friendly staff, great pools, nice restaurants and discent hotel prices for drinks or even a wee souvenirs. The room was really breathtaking, in land view with an amazing garden( no mosquitos in the room!) nice decor and with air conditioning. The hotel is like a city, even have a wee shop for you buy some products of first needs, like shampoo or even clothes. But if u like to explore out from the hotel, u will not get bored. There is an amzing small restaurant( taverna) with some very fresh sea food and very warm staff. And even there is a shop with reasonable prices for first need products as well. Amazing place for family and couples. Me and my hubby will come back for sure!!

  • Liked — staff, comfy beds, a place for relax
  • Disliked — problem with internet conections , no mobile phone signal at all

We booked this holiday as our first all inclusive holiday. We were very disappointed! They had both all inclusive and half board guests mixed together. So they had to make an effort to keep both apart and the all inclusive guests were treated badly as they wanted to please the half board guests to make them spend more money in the hotel. It was awful we were banned from using the bar situated by the evening entertainment which meant in order to watch the entertainment we had to get drinks from our bar which was downstairs a flight of 89 steps down I might add and then carry them back up again! The entertainment was so cheesy it was laughable! So we didn't bother most of the time anyway, at the downstairs bar they played the same tape of music all day everyday. We did have fun only because we met up with two other families and their children and we all moaned and laughed together about how bad it all was. We used to meet up round the pool table and have tournaments with the children that was the only entertainment we had. The hotel is not situated near anything so we couldn't even go out for the evening. We were so bored of the hotel after the first week we hired quad bikes so we could escape. We would go out all day so then it wouldn't bother us so much when we came back to the hotel.
Overall I would say entertainment was awful, nothing around but one thing I will say is the food was fantastic that was the best part about the hotel. We could not fault the food, but the staff left a lot to be desired they were not friendly to us we were treated like second class citizens. One night we were told we had to sit in the area outside the restaurant because we were all inclusive guests. Also the company Med Hotels who we booked with the Rep was terrible when we spoke to her about what had been happening she was totally unexperienced.

We stayed here in August 07 and from the moment we walked through the door until we left we had a horrible experience at this hotel. We really liked Corfu, and would go back again, but NOT TO THIS HOTEL.

Upon arriving they didn't look like they had a booking for us. We were supposed to have a superior seaview room, but were taken to a room that overlooked a carpark. The staff must have thought we were fools who would accept it. The rooms are very old and smell of damp.

After being taken to another room, which again should have been a superior seaview room, we were taken to something that should have been 'garden view'. Again, room was very damp and old. The air conditioning was also average.

Third time and still unlucky, but we were over it by that stage.

The staff (one in particular) always seemed to have a sour look on her face and seemed to treat everyone else just as badly as us. We actually witnessed 2 other (separate) travellers have problems with their room. This one staff member seemed to have the same zero care factor with them as she did with us.

The food was very average. The wait staff in the restaurant were average. We were not allowed to borrow an iron for security reasons (????). We had it on high, but the air felt warm and there was no pressure. Just a very disappointing experience the whole time.

I would NOT recommend staying in this hotel. I will NEVER stay here again.

We were quiet concerned when we had read other reviews but our concerns were unfounded. The hotel is beautifully located in well kept gardens with stunning views out to sea. The rooms were clean, comfortable but not spacious but with adequate storeage space.
The food was very good with a choise for even the most fussy of eaters. Most evenings there was 6/7 meat/fish dishes plus the usual pasta/salad/soup. Not alway as hot as you might expect but still good.

On the plus side. Lots of sunbeds around the pool, on the sun deck and on the beach. Quiet and restful. Plenty of comfy chairs within the reception area and on the terraces. Lovely to be able to eat out outside ( even with the local wasps ... more about them later!! ) Beach towels provided. Good cheap car hire (50 Euros) and fuel cheap too. All the island is accessable by the local bus service which is cheap and not as reliable as the time table but a good way to get around. They will pass you by if they are full, as I mean full!. The bus stop is situated at the entrance to the hotel.
The staff were helpful and most very welcoming. On our trips out and in the hotel english is understood by most.
The hotel shop has a reasonable supply of most holiday items should you wish to not leave the premises.
A five minute walk down to the main road the is a local shop which is far cheaper, supplies every thing from beer, sandwiches to flippers and fridge magnets and cigarettes. The Greek owner and his wife are really friendly and lovely to chat to. The price of bottled water and crisps here and far cheaper than the hotel plus you could have a update on the local weather and life on Corfu with the owners.

On the down side because of its location anyone with mobility problems should give this a miss. It is hilly and plenty of steps.
The hotel bars are expensive but not over the top. Not for anyone who wants a busy party night type of hotel. The entertainment during the evenings is amateurish and those who like somewhere to walk after supper will struggle. If the weather is bad there is little to do. The local jet ski hire costs the same for 15 minutes as a car does for the day and not alot of choise for those into water sports.

Visits to Corfu town and the north and north west coast are really recommended. Avoid Kavos at all costs, its dirty, smells and as my travel book put it... its at the the end of the island in more ways than one. Most of the island can be visited easily with a car on one day. Driving is easy and good fun. If you see something interesting you can just pull over and have a look.

  • Liked — Gardens and lots of open space with excellent views
  • Disliked — Limited facilities is weather was poor.
