“Wonderful stay near Fiskardo!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2012

Very good accomodation. The staff is really friendly, kind and helpful.
The apartment is very clean and newly furnished.
There is a nice garden with a swimmingpool and all the area is very very clean.
The hotel is situated in a very peaceful place near the beautiful village of Fiskardo and the beach of Dafnoudi.
It's a perfect place to relax!

One of our best experiences of a family vacation. Ideal location in a small village on a hill, providing breathtaking view and pleasant breeze, within 5min driving distance from the picturesque harbour of Fiscardo and from 5min to 25min from beautiful beaches like Emblissy, Assos and Myrtos. Clean, spacious rooms, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, very hospitable personnel, unbeatable value for money.

Just arrived back from our first holiday to Kefalonia. We could not have picked a better place to stay, about 2 kilometers from Fiskardo. The Dafnoudi hotel was set in beautiful gardens and the room we stayed in was definitely 4* with even iron/ironing board/hairdrier/TV/DVD provided. Although we were only a couple we chose to stay in a 1 bedroom apartment to give us more space. The apartment had 2 balconies both with views of the gardens and sea. The kitchen area was well equipped and the rooms were cleaned daily with towels changed as often as needed. There was a very nice pool with sun loungers and plenty of shade when needed. Both the informative and helpful English speaking Effe and the timeless workaholic room/gardens maid Maria were always smiling and cheerful and brightened the atmosphere. There are several excellent beaches in the area, our 2 favourites being Dafnoudi and Kimilia beach, both of which are reached by a pleasant walk through wooded slopes and are well shaded and quiet. There is a choice of 2 tavernas and a cafe restaurant within 200m and Fiskardo restaurants are only a 5Euro taxi ride away. Can't wait to come back nex year!

Wow! This place was really beautiful! The 1 bedroom apartment was simple but big enough for the 4 of us (2 kids). We had a full kitchen and were able to eat breakfast in our room every morning. The flowers on the property were amazing. The pool was small but fine for the kids to play in. The pool bar was handy when we wanted a beer while the kids played. The wine selection was VERY minimal....bring your own unless you like it from a jug. We were very pleased with our stay and the price was very nice. I believe we paid about 65 euro a night.

  • Liked — Size of room, price of room
  • Disliked — Credit card machine wasn't working, so we paid cash.

Kefalonia is a wonderful island do hire a car to see more than the sandy beaches of the south. We stayed in beautiful appartments certainly the best we have had in Greece and only classed as "C" acommodation but with iron, hairdryer, T.V.and D.V.D. provided!!!! The only slight drawback was that the appartments are on the road but with the air conditioning on at night this really is not an issue. The appartments are spacious and clean and set in lovely fragrant gardens with a delightful pool. The vews are super and the village of Antipata a delight, do go and buy the local honey from the producer. There are three tavernas in the village avoid the Oasis but do eat at the one closest to Fiskardo (pink and green with a small shop attatched) we had excellent food there truely local food cooked by two ladies from the village .
Fiskardo is a real gem of a place, the people watching is second to none and there are plenty of lovely places to eat both on the harbour front where you can feast your eyes on the yachts of the rich and famous and in the small square where so many of the Greeks eat. Do buy the locally produced yohurt from the supermarket near the post office it is to die for.
Give youself a treat and drive the orange road from Vasilikades to Aghia Efimia you will be rewarded with superb vistas at every turn and don't miss a trip to Assos but I wouldn't recommend a drive in a1.1 fiat up to the castle!!!!
The nearest truely sandy beach is at Aghia Kiriaki, a few sunbeds here too and a superb fish restaurant, this a real gem and very unspoilt turn off the main road from Assos at Agon.
Who would I recommend Kefalonia to ? If you have small children perhaps stay on the south coast, busier yes but still not too commercialised and this is where the sandy beaches are.
If you don't mind shingle and pebble coves head north but treat yourself to some beach mats as the coves are small and there are few sunbeds and umberellas.
We only returned yesterday and I'm missing Kefalonia already
