“Comfortable apartment, splendid view, friendly staff.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2012

The rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed, each with a balcony providing wonderful views across the harbour entrance to the Roman and 19th century lighthouses, and beyond to Ithaca and the distant mainland.

Antonis, who runs the apartments, is extremely friendly and helpful and will provide you with breakfast should you wish, but the apartments are about 10 minutes stroll from the town itself, (which is no bad thing as this makes them more peaceful) and there is a huge choice of harbourside cafes where you can enjoy breakfast and watch the world go by.

10 minutes in the other direction is Foki beach, a small inlet, accessed through an old olive grove, with a pretty roadside taverna ideal for a light lunch or refreshing drink.

Just to comment on the earlier point made about dropped food and a trail of ants, our experience was that the room was cleaned thoroughly and daily and that it is hard to go anywhere in Kefalonia without seeing a trail of ants heading purposefully somewhere or other!

Room Tip: Just ask for room 119 (but not whilst we're staying!)

3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2011

The rooms are large and airy with plenty of wardbrode and drawer space. The beds are the most comfortable I've had in Europe for years. The decoration was old fashioned, circa early eighties, no modern hotel chain decoration here, but it has character. Our room was painted in a pale sky blue and I know another room is painted pale pink. The room also has air con and room safe included in the price. There was a TV but we didn't use it. The bathroom has everything you need including an enclosed shower cubicle rather than the usual shower curtain that doesn't really work. Shame about the brown tiling though. The kitchen area has everything you need for a holday. We didn't use the cooking rings or the grill, but toaster and kettle worked well.In the fridge freezer the owner offers a minibar facilty which we thought was priced similar to the supermarkets in the area.
The large balcony is where this place scores big time The fabulous view is across the bay to the headland with lighthouse. Behind this you see the island of Lefkas, then panning right is Meganissy, then Ardouki followed by Ithaka. Behind all this are the mountains of mainland Greece.
There is a lift that works well but is primitive.
The apartments are about a 10 minute walk into the centre and almost on the edge of Fiskardo. We thought this was perfect as it enjoys complete quiet at night ( pretty quite during the day too). They are also about 10minutes from the picturesque Foki Beach.
Would we stay again? absolutely, we'll probably book again for next year.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2010

The view from the room was the best feature in the hotel - a beautiful cove, sailing boats and lighthouse. The balcony was outstanding as well and perfect for romantic dinners. Having said that, the room was not too clean when we arrived and we found dropped food on the floor with a trail of ants. The decor was not really to our taste either but the room was otherwise large and comfortable. While wi-fi was only available in certain areas, the owner very kindly lent us a cord to connect our laptop to the internet and he also came to pick us up from the harbour as the hotel is quite a good distance away. The location was not as central as we would have liked, and it was a good 15 - 20 min walk to the centre. This hotel would be ideal for travellers expecting hotel rooms/apartments with some frills eg: aircon, tv, hairdryer, kitchenette but backpackers on a budget would probably find a better deal elsewhere.
