“Never Again!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013 via mobile

A Concha used to be ok but things have changed. Stylish rooftop terrace, new menus....but it's down hill the rest of the way.
The muscle starter was swimming in a sea of molten butter masquerading as a sauce. The skate wing with garlic was actually garlic with skate wing. There must have been at least 6 cloves sliced and very lightly cooked swimming in oil. Somewhere underneath was a small price of overcooked skate.
The Portuguese sausage balls were ok.
Sadly it got worse withe the mains. Despite being told the stuffed crab was stuffed with crab, it wasn't. The crab meat was removed and replaced with what can only be described as supermarket cheese sandwich filling which seemed to comprise mayo, cheese and chives. DIRE!
The seared tuna was dry and overcooked. The pork tenderloin was tough....how one acheives this is beyond me.
The wine was good but I suspect that was because the chef hadn't been near it.
The waiters were great, I feel sorry for them having to present customers with this food.
Finally this place is way overpriced.
Best avoided.

“A real gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

The view from the upper terrace is wonderful. We enjoyed two excellent lunches here and the food and service on each occasion was excellent. It was good to see a slightly different menu from others in Praia Da Luz. Definitely worth a visit!

“Great meal, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

Had a good meal here sitting on the lower terrace overlooking the beach. Service was a bit patchy, but the food was excellent. Scallops and salmon with an interesting polenta base and superb sole main course. Would definitely visit again.

“Menu - traditional as well as a modern take on Portuguese food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

We went with friends from Spain and the location was perfect to see Luz and the view of the beach. The restaurant is well-established and has a regular clientele. The new chef has brought some changes to the menu - classic Portuguese dishes like Cataplana are retained and some excellent new additions have been made which use local produce like scallops with salmon on seaweed polenta. All food is beautifully presented. Well worth a visit

“OH DEAR, WHATS HAPPENED??”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

Could easily say this used to be my favourite restaurant in praia da luz, always ate here twice during our stay in luz and had done so for several years. However this year I was very disappointed, the menu has changed and so I presume has the chef. Very average meals, not such a good choice of food and much higher prices. after first visit did not go back again this time.
