Sergio has been running this business for a few years now. When he worked at Estrela da Luz's Calabaza, it was clear that staff training and attention to detail were his forte.
At Alloro, he has this down to an art. If you are sitting inside the restaurant, you get a full view of the kitchen which is very interesting. There is all of the hustle and bustle of a kitchen staff working very hard to get the food out quickly and efficiently.
The waiting staff are mainly familiar faces who have been there for some time. They leave nothing unattended and are always quick to provide service with a smile.
As a restaurateur myself, I recognise customer service as the most important factor - even more so than the quality of the food served.
Having said that, the food is always consistently good - we had seafood linguine, salmon steak, spag bol. All excellent.
No trip to Praia da Luz is complete without visiting Alloro in the Vila Baia Development.
