“Very Good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

We have stayed here for a week and probably is the best place you can stay in Limenas. The only negative is the noise (both from the road and the corridors) during the night. Except from that, the hotel is fantastic for a 3* hotel. The rooms are spacious (Junior Suite), very well furnished and maintained and perfectly clean. Owners and staff cannot be more helpful and kind. Breakfast is good (not great variety but everything is good quality).

The hotel has a very nice bar and very nice garden area for relaxing or sitting to have a coffee/frink.

Location is perfect as you are 2 minutes by foot from the main city centre with the restaurants, cafes, bars and shops.

Definitely worth the money and surely it can competes many hotels of higher rating. If it was not the noise it could have easily scored 100/100.

No matter what kind of accommodation you are looking for, you will find it in Thassos. There are plenty of little hotels, apartments, B+Bs, rooms etc. And then there is the Lido. I am not surprised by its high ratings: we originally visited it two years ago for cocktails whilst staying in another hotel, and instantly realised it was the place for us. How right we were.
It feels very boutique – not large, but elegant, with plenty of little nooks and crannies to nestle in, both inside and outside, and a lovely pool area with a retracting roof and charming garden with little tables and loungers. Not to mention a great little cocktail bar. Communal areas are immaculate.
There aren’t many rooms, so you get a very personal service, and nothing was too much trouble for the kind staff. We really felt they wanted us to have an amazing week and would go the extra mile to ensure it! I can’t thank them enough for their kindness. Panos, the owner, gives every guest his personal mobile numbers “just in case” and how many hotel owners do that?
Rooms are a good size and super clean, with excellent bathrooms and little balconies. Beds were comfy, and there was a safe and fridge, plug points to charge things, plenty of mirrors, nice toiletries, and a mosquito screen on the balcony door that actually worked. And efficient air con. All boxes ticked. We didn’t use the phone or TV – but they were there too. Breakfast always included a choice of cooked food, fresh bread, pastries, yoghurt and muesli, as well as tomatoes olives and cheese. And as much tea and coffee as you wanted…
Finally, it’s bang in the middle of town, so a few moments stroll to the harbour front, town beaches and eateries. Who could ask for more? Not us!

Stayed here for six nights and was not disappointed. The breakfast was really good, we were only expecting continental breakfast but was pleasantly surprised to also get omelette with ham and cheese. The staff were extremely helpful and couldn't do enough to ensure your stay was excellent! The plunge pool was lovely and so were the gardens to relax and read. My only negative was that you are unable to leave the air conditioning on when not in the room due to only being given one key, we used to come in at night sit on the balcony whilst the room cooled, it worked. Overall it is a fabulous hotel and would definitely stay again!

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Lido from 16th June to 30th June 2013 and we can both honestly and truthfully say, that the hotel, the owners Panos and Rula and their staff Elizabeth and Stellios are all fantastic. This is the first time that we have been to Thassos and to the Hotel Lido and we will definately be returning in the near future. I have been a member of trip adviser for many years and always provide accurate and genuine reviews on all experiences that we have had and I find it really hard to believe that any review could be less than 5 Excellent for this hotel. Yes, you do hear some traffic noise at times, but this is a town and it is to be expected. With regards to the hotel and the customer service that you receive, this is of the highest standards. The guest rooms are kept extremely clean and the bedding and towels are of the finest quality. The hotel grounds, gardens and pool are all kept immaculate and the pool is lovely to have a swim or cool off in, no matter what time of day. We had great views of the mountains and regularly sat on the balcony late in the afternoon. Chairs, tables and drying facilities are provided on the balcony. The rooms are well thought out and you have all you will need, which include a fridge, kettle, cups, chairs and table, and for us ladies, the hairdryer is actually placed in a good position next to the mirror and dressing table in the bedroom. This makes a lovely change from having it in the bathroom. Its the little touches that the Lido provides, that makes it a special place to stay. The doors have mozzi screens and the air conditioning is very effective and working properly. The bar is modern and bright, and it is a good place for your pre-dinner drinks and night caps. We loved spending time with the owners Panos and Rula and their children Nickos and Stavrula, oh and Milo the dog. xx They all made my husband and I feel like part of their family, which was just so lovely. The Lido provides a good breakfast choice consisting of tea, coffee, orange, cereal, bread, jams, Greek yogurt with honey and boiled eggs, but also the eggs, ham, cheese and beans option if you want it. The hotel also has a boutique called La Boutique and I would reccomed you ladies take a look, as I was amazed to find such unique and individual clothing on sale in here, that you would never get at home. I purchased a dress and top and the prices are very good. Not expensive at all. Thassos is a beautiful island and Thassos town has everything you could possibly want for a relaxing holiday. Plenty of restaurants, shops, bakeries, snack shops, supermarkets, hairdressers, 2 tobacco kiosks, a cocktail bar on the town beach front, waterfront tavern's and a great beach, with clear and warm water. At the end of the town beach is another place to sunbathe with free sunbeds and a decked restaurant looking out over the ocean. This is worth a visit too. The town beach has beach bars, all offering free sunbeds if you purchase your drinks and snack from there, and this is a great way to spend your time sunbathing. We used Stratos for the first week and then the Island for the second week. The Stratos is also great for evening meals from 8 pm on-wards, after the late sunbathers have left, as it is cool, it has great views and the food is absolutely gorgeous. This has to be one of the best places to eat in our opinion but we also enjoyed Alexandra s, which is just up a small road from the harbor and the Mythos. I have already recommended Thassos and the Hotel Lido to my work colleagues and friends and can honestly say, that you will not be dissapointed if you stay here.

Stayed at the Lido for 2 weeks mid June, we went to Thassos a few years back and always yearned to return.... Chose the Lido due to good reviews etc and at the time of booking was a great price.(Tomson holidays) Thassos has many repeat guests who come year after year and I can see why its a lovely island safe and easy to get around local bus etc, the guests who we spoke to had mainly previously stayed in another hotel which tomson no longer go to hence the choice for the lido. Its only a small hotel and yes very clean with a pretty garden and sun beds at the back a small pool for cooling down in although the 2 weeks we were there nobody used it and the sunbeds etc in the garden again nobody seemed to use. It has a "young trendy" look to it the bar at the front has a few lighting effects used on a night time and music but nothing too loud or over the top.Our room
was at the front on the second floor. Aircon and safe all included and also kettle and cups and a
fridge provided this was great if you wanted a cuppa on your balcony(little supermarket close by
for essentials)mozzie screens over the doors the critters have a meal on me, but only had one
small bite in 2 weeks ! Our balcony was large and we could just see over the roof tops and could
see the mountains on the left and the sea. If on the 1st floor i doubt this would be the case. Also
the 1st floor room balconies looked small and had no overhead cover . Balcony chairs and tables
and drying line facilities all provided. The bad points with having a front room...the noise a one way system runs through town so a volume of this passes by the hotel. I think the rooms at the back are a little smaller they will be free from traffic noise. The room was very clean and our towels changed everyday linen also changed regular. Plenty wardrobe space etc. Breakfast was poor, choice of cornflakes or museli, which you served yourself. All the rest was brought to you tea, coffee orange juice (diluted not fresh) yogurt with tinned peaches, ham, tomotoe, cucumber and cheese.1st week we had a cold hard boil egg 2nd week omlete and beans (nearly alwayscold)bread and jam. The nice part of breakfast was the lady who served us, she was
amazing hard working and always smiling, she also cleaned the rooms etc. Thassos is a fantastic island and yes we want to return again and again........ not sure abot this hotel...it could be really great, a few adjustments maybe???

Room Tip: Room at the back will be more peacefull

Good hotel, well located for beach, bars, restaurants and shops. Hotel bedrooms have fridge, kettle, cups, safe (no charge), hair-dryer, Air Con (no charge) and a shower within a sliding screen cubicle. Our room overlooked the back garden area and pool and was not troubled by much road noise. Breakfast was simple but filling. Overall the hotel was modern, neat, clean and tidy. Our balcony door had a separate fly screen so you can sleep with the doors open but no mossies can get in - hurrah.
We usually finished the evening with a tipple or two in the hotel bar - well stocked, pleasant with an unusual lighting arrangement.
Overall a damn fine hotel.

Room Tip: Pool view rooms will be a little quieter.
