“B&B that stands out for design, hospitality and comfort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

Much has already been said about the outstanding hospitality of Dietmar and Dennis, who surprised us every morning with an excellent and tasty breakfast. We loved the fresh orange juice, the cakes and the self-made jams and yoghurt creations.
We enjoyed the design and elegance of our little house and the high Standard of the amenities like the air condition, comfortable bed and linen or the showers.

One of the best pools I have seen for a Long time - where the pool melts into the horizon over the Kamilari valley.

We would definitely come again, as this B&B is clearly a One of a Kind in Kreta and offers the best standard in the area.

Dietmar, Dennis, thank you so much again for the nice days in Kamilari!

This is really a gorgeous place! A little bit difficult to find but once you get there you do not want to get away. The place is great but the welcome of Dennis and Dietmard is also something we appreciated. They know how to be present and at the same time how to be invisible. They are there when you need them.
The location is also very nice. It is not far away from historical sites. You can plan some trekking from there too or just go to the beach.
The village is also very nice. A typical Cretean village with a good mix of touristic places and people still living in the village.
Just an important remark, if you want to visit you need a car.

This was our favourite stay in Greece without a doubt. As soon as we arrived a sense of calm and relaxation enveloped us. The property is beautifully designed to blend into the rolling hills and olive groves of the surrounding region. Dennis and Dietmar are friendly, charming and gracious hosts. You'll love their breakfasts and their company.

The surrounding region has something for everyone (ruins, hiking, beaches etc.) and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. We can't wait to go back. Thank you Dennis and Dietmar!

My daughter and I had a most wonderful week here with Dennis and Dietmar. The studios are simple and stunning (Dietmar is an architect) The out door shower and roof terrace are some of the luxurious extras you will find when you come and stay here in this magical part of Crete. Breakfast on the veranda is a complete treat, delicious greek yoghurt with different fruits and/or compote every day, a selection of local cheeses and meat, fresh bread and to top it all ......a lovely piece of home made cake! Dietmar is an excellent cook and is happy to share some (but not all!!) of his favourite cake recipes.
Both Dennis and Dietmar are very attentive and have a wealth of knowledge about the island they both love, and are happy to help you plan your days out or leave you well alone if you wish so.

I could go on and on, let is suffice to say that we are planning to go back this autumn.

There are many adjectives I could use to describe this wonderful guest house (which I found on furtherafield.com) and its charming hosts but I suggest you stay there and within minutes of arriving you will know them for yourself. As for the local village it has ample tavernas, the beaches (a short drive away) are bliss and even the local museum is an absolute gem. Thank you guys for your hospitality. We hope to return soon.

Room Tip: All three rooms are excellent and have privacy.

Niriida is set within the most lovely, unspoiled area of southern Crete.
Dennis and Dietmar are warm, charming and thoughtful hosts. Their guesthouse is a triumph of design and comfort. We spent our stay exploring the many nearby, scenic attractions or relaxing on the beautiful terrace and pool area.
The views from every part of the property are stunning - from snow on the mountaintops to olive groves and coastal villages. The pleasant and friendly village of Kamilari has a number of traditional cafes and tavernas for eating and drinking in the evenings.
We had a perfect spring break here and plan to return on our next trip to Crete.

Room Tip: All the rooms are fantastic, set within a beautiful olive grove garden - really special is that each...

From first friendly and efficient email contact throught to final farewell, our experience of Niriida was a pure delight. The individual cottages are stunningly well designed, every detail both beautiful and highly functioning. The views are glorious; the outside shower (in Cretan sunshine) a heavenly treat after months of English winter; the garden and surrounding olive groves packed with birds and butterflies, and the walks in the area dramatic and various. Breakfasts were to die for - oh so delicious, oh so beautiful. And loveliest of all were Dennis and Dietmar themselves, good, kind people, with vision, and with values to admire. We are already planning a return visit in the autumn, next time for a lot longer than two nights,
