“Fast, Simple, Tasty.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

Ramires is a different style of restaurant than I have been to before. More canteen than chic, Ramires are used to dealing with numbers and have a busy take out service with the locals. It's boasts to be the birth place of the piri piri chicken, and that's what you get here. Chicken, fries and and a simple delicious tomato and onion salad. The piri piri chicken is crispy with a dry spicy rub ( nothing like Nandos :-)) Different but tasty. They use all the carcass , so don't just expect breast!
Worth a visit if you are in the area.

“Fantastic chicken piri piri and great atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

We were recommended Ramires and it lived up to expectations. A ton of chicken piri piri complemented by tomato and onion salad and mountains of chips. House wine was great at july E5.50. Great value and busy, busy, busy! Recommendation for anyone fancying authentic Portugueues cuisine.

“Best piri piri ever!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

This restaurant is by far the best chicken around. Simple small menu. Food well cooked and reallyndelicious. Homemade puddings were equally good. 5 euros for bottle of house wine. Puds 3 euros. Whole chicken 13 euros. Unbelievable value for menu. Its a must.

“best chicken piri-piri”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

You don't even need a menu when you go in... they have chicken piri-piri or chicken piri-piri! Actually, I think they did have lamb or something else but the only thing you need to get is the chicken. It's served with fries (included in the price) or you can opt for rice (additional price).

Choice of starters wasn't great but none were needed. I recommend getting a full chicken per person (€13) and the salad. Very filling and very, very tasty!

“Ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

The food is good, very greasy, but good. I think its cooked a bit healthier in the UK however this is the authentic way and apparently where it was invented so throw calorie counting out of the window and enjoy it how it should be.
The chips were amazing, along with all the other sides.

The service however wasn't great. They all looked moody, a bit snappy, and got a bit confused with the sides. It was really good food, but not the best we had in portufal, and again the service wasnt great. The locals say this is good a place but strongly advise that it isn't the best.

I probably wouldn't bother going here again, would try others.
