“Best Piri Piri in the Area.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

In Aug 2012 we stayed in Armacao De Pera and visited this restaurant 3 times during our Holiday. We'd read the reviews prior to finding this eatery and we weren't disappointed. Every now and again you come across a restaurant that seems to live up to expectations. It's BIG - must hold well over 150 diners (maybe more) and a large proporation of diners were locals which is always a good sign. Very popular with families. It's a 'no nonsense' sort of place and considering the number of folk in there, service was very good. The Menu is more or less redundant. Its either Chicken or Piri Piri Chicken. Fantastic ! Guia as a town is noted for Chicken Piri Piri and like others we've tried it in numerous restaurants at varying prices....but without a doubt Teodosio is the best. It's just a short walk up away from the 'Chicken' roundabout and well worth it. We WILL definately be going back in 2013.

“Chicken PiriPiri - Fast & tasty”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Easy to find, 100 meters up from the "chicken roundabout" at Guia, with ample car parking.
Not a romantic setting inside but clean and bustling as loads of locals come here to eat - also have premier league games on the TV so thats a bonus ( although the volume is turned down low). Anyway, to the main reason for this review - the food. If you like chicken you are in the right place cos thats all they do really...and if you like spicy, well you will not be disappointed with their PiriPiri. Guia being the 'home' of PiriPiri chicken this place does not disappoint. Teodosio translates as the King of Chickens and they are aptly named as they do it well.
However the chickens are on the small side so I would suggest one bird per person! The chicken comes out on a platter and is cut into small pieces with a good portion of french fries included in the price of the chicken. The only salad on the menu is tomato & onion - the small salad is more than enough for 2 persons though so dont be tempted to go for the medium or large!
The chicken lived up to the restaurants name being juicy and very tasty.
Price wise will not break the bank either, the 2 of us had 1 chicken ( now we know to have one each!) the salad fries with the obligatory cheese bread & olives as a starter, a bottle of Lancers Rose wine and the bill came to less than 30€
All in all, not bad value and if you are in the area definately worth popping in for lunch or early tea before the crowds fill up the place after 8pm
Enjoy!

“Clearly the best Piri Piri since 30 years”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

Every year we make a point to drive 500 km and back to have lunch at Teodosio. I have seen it grow from a shack to what it is now. And the secret formula still works, it´s simply the best piri-piri place. It´s not just chicken, it´s baby chicken specially marinated in a secret sauce. The fact that more Portuguese locals eat here than tourists speaks for itself, yet the staff do speak English. The only negative point is that the price has gone up quite a bit. 14€ for a full baby chicken (considered as 2 portions) is on the hefty side compared to others... It´s the first time I´ve noticed this. Didn´t stop us from having 11 portions (5.5 chickens) between the 3 of us though.... plus the mandatory 6 chickens to bring back to Spain.

“Bantam sized chicken”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012

Six of us went to this restaurant the other night, what a mistake! Being typical sheep, we followed the masses in to this establishment thinking full restaurant, good food. The portuguese must like having to pick at their chicken to extract the smallest morcels of meat i have ever seen. Go here and come out hungry because the chicken pieces have little or no meat on them at all.You have been warned!

“Chicken Pirir Piri from Guia”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Dont even try to compare the chicken piri piri they try to sell in Albufeira to the one they sell in Guia, where it originally comes from. So if you want the real thing go to this restaurant! Dont expect a very romantic atmosphere though because the place is so big and full off people it seems more like a factory.
