Myself and my wife returned a week ago from Elenis village. I read a lot of the reviews (as one dose) before we went and mostly I agree with what was said. The staff are very friendly and will help you out with all the little things you need. like ordering taxis and car rental. The rooms are a good size and cleaned regularly. I read in past reviews about cockroaches but we didn't see one anywhere on the island (never have in the 17 years Ive been going there) I agree with Dot099 about the pool. It was quit small but it never really seemed to get crowded. We didn't use the bus, but we did use the taxis. They are very good but the prices do vary from driver to driver. The walk back up to the apartments from the beach is a bit of a challenge. The Thomas Cook brochure says its a bit of a climb up some steps. Hmmm...What it doesn't say is you have to walk up a very steep road for about half a mile before you get to the steps. Something to keep in mind if you struggle a little with hills. It is worth it when get up there mind. Some of the views are breathtaking. I did say some! They have now built some new apartment right in front of Elenis so the the photos in the brochure and there web site are not true representations of whats there now. Don't get me wrong. There are still some very good views but not what it says on the tin so to speak. All in all this is a very good clean and friendly place to spend your holiday and i do recommend it.
