Overall had a very nice experience.

The location is awesome with beach just 5 mins walk away....The rooms are good (had small issue with the washroom though. it had some blockage issue which was resolved after complaining). The hotel has a nice pool. Great staff with smiling faces.......... Would love to stay here again.............

We have just come back from Goa, staying at the Haathi Mahal in Covelossim, for what is around the 10th time. We are members ad have been staying every year since it opened around the year 2000. The Haathi seems to get somewhat mixed reviews, but I can only confirm our experiences over the years. Keeping in perspective that this is India with a relatively new tourist industry, and a relatively under developed infrastructure, I can only say that we have enjoyed every visit. The staff have always been exceedingly helpful, and have coped with the few difficulties we have encountered, with a smile and in every case a satisfectory resolution. The rooms have always been clean and comfortable, as have the hotel grounds and the facilities provided. I suppose to an extent it depends on expectations, some people pitch there expectations too high, and I percieve this to apply to local guests as much as to European guests. For example during our three weeks there recently the toilet got blocked up at least six times, frobably because the apartment was at the bottom of the resort at the end on the waste pipes. Some guests with similar minor problems were to be seem at reception demanding immediate action, demanding to be moved and berating the reception staff in such a way that appeared to me to be lacking in any kind of coutesy at all. We on the other hand contacted maintenance if we had any problems, and within a couple of hours or less someone would come and sort out the problem with a smile, and then the rooms supervisor (Rosie) would come to ensure that all was resolved. It really was not a problem, it's not Europe with all those years of "sophistication" and modern plumbing and other facilities so live with what they have, they have to, it's not difficult to do. The hotel is lovely, the staff are excellent, the beach is ten minutes away, and there are resaurants a plenty just round the corner.
Special thanks to Vincent, Savio, Diaogo, and Rose.

Room Tip: Apartments that face towards the river, get the sun in the morning.... which can be very very hot be...

Dear Guest,

Reviews like yours leave me with such a warm feeling. Thank you for taking the time off to write about your experiences, even after being a member of our family for so long and knowing everything about our resort and its people.

I am sorry to hear of your experiences with the toilet. We did do a lot of work with the sewerage and drainage system at Haathi Mahal in the last two years. It is now much better than before.

I will convey your kind words to the team and they will be suitably commended for providing great service and being of help when needed.I am glad you enjoyed all the facilities we had on offer.

We look forward to more visits from you and waiting to serve you again.

Best wishes,
Grenville Dcosta

Stayed here in March. Does what it promises. We had room 130. Nice room with a big balcony overlooking the swimming pool. Three star with big rooms, clean enough with attached balconies (which were nice except for the pigeon droppings which wasn't cleaned) . We enjoyed our stay, specially the kids loved the water slide. Swimming pools (3) are big and clean and the best feature of the hotel.
The kids playroom is just a room with really nothing inside. The activities advertised never took place because apparently there were no takers apart from us. There were two movie screenings every day, at 3 for kids and 7 for adults on a big screen with really nice setting and comfortable sofas.
The beach is 20 mins walk, but nice clean and isolated with a few shacks. Sea as anywhere in Goa except Palolem is a bit choppy.
Breakfast was nice with ample choice, but noone informs you that you can get eggs on order etc. They have a buffet lunch as well, which we never tried as we mostly ate by the pool. Food prices are reasonable so is the quality. For dinner the place is pretty dead. I would suggest Jazz Inn next to the hotel, where there was dancing and music every night. In fact most of the clientele were residents from the hotel.
Spa packages are good. The staff at the spa know there job and do it well. Only deterrant was the incessant construction noise while getting the treatement.
Would I stay here again? Probably yes, it is good value for the price!

Room Tip: All rooms seemed nice. They let us choose between two. If you have a preferrance I would suggest dro...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Haathi Mahal. Your detailed write up on your experience is very helpful. I am glad that you enjoyed the facilities on offer and have taken your suggestions / observations to the department heads in Food & Beverage and the Housekeeping department to re-train our team in providing optimum service.

We are revamping our Recreation activities to include a lot of indoor and outdoor games for the benefit of our guests. It is happening as we speak. You will see a marked change in this area the next time you visit.

I am sorry that you got disturbed during your treatment at Karma Spa. Unfortunately, we had some urgent repair work to carry out in the adjoining gymnasium. Thank you for bearing with us.

Thank you once again for bringing your points to the fore and we look forward to serving you again.

Best wishes,

We stayed at RGBC Hathi Mahal for a week and really enjoyed the place. Its location, cleanliness, staff and services all are good. We were here with our parents and kids and all three generations had something to do so no one felt out of place.

Although not on a beach Hathi Mahal has a good pool in the center of the hotel so we enjoyed it a lot. It has a market place known as - Bazzar where you get everything you need and just step out of the resort and you have a couple of shops which have almost everything you need so if you have missed something do not worry.

House keeping department did their work perfectly and we found the rooms clean always and if you need an extra pillow or blanket it is provided in minutes. If you are cooking your own food the kitchen provided has everything required so you need not carry any cooking tools with you. They charge for everything big and small but that's how timeshare works. Spa is great and I will suggest not to miss it after a day of strolling at beaches or swimming it will help you de-stress and re-energize completely.

The only thing I had an objection to is trying to sell timeshare being offered by RGBC for which they contact at any time and want us to attend a meeting, even after you say no they keep on pursuing you. We are here for holiday and can be contacted by mail anytime and disturbing irrespective of time of the day or what you are doing is not right. And I would suggest to increase the parking area which we found to be very small and unsafe as its outside the resort boundaries.

Overall, our stay was very comfortable and we enjoyed it a lot.

Dear Navneet,

Thank you for reviewing your stay at Haathi Mahal on TripAdvisor. Your kind words are very encouraging and i will ensure that this is communicated to all concerned.

I am sorry that you got disturbed with the visits of our sales people. I will pass on your concerns to the Department head to ensure that this is not repeated in the future. There is ample closed and secure parking space behind the resort if you choose to use the same. We offer two choices of parking; one open area patrolled by security personnel at the side of the resort and the enclosed area behind also looked after by our security.

Thank you once again for your review and we look forward to seeing you again at Haathi Mahal.

Best wishes,

Rooms were good neat and well ventilated ( if u want the AC off). Housekeeping was good and the amenities were usual. All others like the restaurant, pool activities were good.
