“Like to be pampered, this is the place to be.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2010

I had some casual leave pending which I had to take in July 2010, to avoid it from being wasted. I had absolutely no holiday plans on mind, however, being a regular on Trip Advisor, I used to keep checking out reviews of hotels and resorts. This is how I came across Holiday In Goa. Being an off-season, I got a very good deal for a 3 nights 4 days stay with all meals inclusive.

My Goa trip started on 7th July, we (me and spouse) arrived at the airport by the early morning flight. The resort had arranged for a pick-up (part of package) for us and our driver was already waiting for us. It was pouring the previous night, so the climate was nice and cool. We reached the hotel in about 45 minutes.

We were given a traditional welcome on arrival and the check-in formalities were over in the next 10 mins. We had opted for a 'Plaza garden view' room as part of our package, but were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded to a superior 'Pool view' room. The beach was visible from the balcony of our room if one were to stretch out a little. It was a perfect start to our stay at Holiday Inn.

The property is situated at a very good location. The beach is a 2-3 min walk from the resort. Our meals deal started with lunch on day 1. It was a buffet at Mardi Gras Restaurant. We were first welcomed in by the ever smiling Jovita. She took us around the restaurant and briefed us about the layout of the buffet counters.
They have a great spread and a wide variety of delicasies served each day. And dishes were never repeated even once during our 4 day stay. Jovita very quickly noted that we preferred ginger tea for breakfast, and she ensured that the tea, made as per our taste, was at our table by the time we finished our breakfast. Special mention about Mr Dattaprasad the ever smiling restaurant staff, who looked after our needs at the restaurant very well. There were a few more staff members whos names I would have liked to mention, but I fail to recall. Miss you guys..!

Another thing that impressed us was the house keeping at the resort.
Every time we returned to our room, we would be surprised at the way the room was cleaned and made up as if we were checking-in into a new room for the first time. no matter how messy we left the place, we had a warm and welcoming room on return. Great job guys..!!

The beach was clean and well kept and there we hardly any tourists in sight. However they have appointed lifeguards at the beach who come and keep a close watch every time you try to get too close to the water.

We had big plans before we left for Goa, and were looking forward to eating out at Betty's and similar joints mentioned in the other reviews. But we were utterly disappointed to know that these shacks are operational only during the tourist season (Oct-Mar). I wish someone had mentioned this in their reviews. Also, during the rains the sea is very rough, so do not go there expecting water sports and dolphin sighting cruises. You'll be disappointed.
The half day sight seeing, was a decent one but the boat cruise was a major disappointment. The boat trip is arranged as part for the package deal, but we were shocked to see that it was a common cruise boat which was full of locals who were high and wild. Since there was liquour being served on-board, there were groups of people who were creating nuisance during the trip. I dont think the people who stay at Holiday Inn would like to be mixing with such a crowd. The resort should instead arrange for an exclusive boat trip for its guests, who wont even mind paying extra for such trips.
These were our only regrets during our trip, but all-in-all a memorable 4 days, worth every penny spent.

Overall, a nice property, beautiful beach, very good food and great service.
I'd like to conclude by saying that the staff of this resort are its greatest assets. I would like to thank them for making our stay so memorable.

I had been to Holiday inn, goa for my anniversary and my experience was disappointing to say the least. Although they claim to be a Holiday inn property, but i think Holiday inn has just lent its name and the hotel is neither owned nor even manageb by holiday inn.
The management is with the locals and you can really make out the difference

The biggest disappointment was that I was hoping to catch FIFA world cup action but was extremely disappointed when I landed at the resort to discover that they dont show ESPN and star sports on the room TV. I didnot bother to check such a basic thing before booking in a 5 star resort. I have stayed in numerous 5 star and 4 star properties in India and abroad and have never seen such a basic service not being provided. The ESPN/ Star sports package costs less that Rs. 50/ month .....i even volunteered to pay for a whole months subscription for the entire hotel :)
Hell, most 3 star hotels would show these basic sports channels. I spoke to the management and they were extremely arrogant and said that they were under no obligation to show these channels and nowhere in the package details did they mention that they would show ESPN/ star sports. You spend your hard earned money for enjoyment and relaxation and I was thoroughly disappointed to miss on this once in 4 year event.

The rooms are small and they donot provide basic amenities like bath robe and beach slippers .....(this wasn't mentioned in the package either).
The food spread is limited but the cooking was good. The spread at leela, taj or hyatt is far far superior. Jovita and rajiv at the restaurant were courteous and smiling.
No cultural or additional activities were arranged by the hotel.
Had problems with the shower and flush
No LCD television ...all in all ...there are better options in goa .....no better than any 3 star property in goa

I planned to going at Goa for 5 Days during my some vacation time with my wife and after some search on web I get information regarding the Holiday Inn resort in Goa and I booked it threw travel agent.

It is one of the good and great resort of the Goa with very reasonable price. They can offer good facility like room service, Food, Pick-up Facility etc. and it is very fast and excellent as per our requirement.

I really like their nature and kind of service. I am really thankful to them...

There is no dearth of premium hotels in Goa, and we have stayed in a few of them in the past. But when we were traveling with young kids (both below the age of five), prior consideration was required. We zeroed in on Holiday Inn and our decision couldn’t have been more correct.

I believe that when we remember the names of the hotel staff we interact with after we are back home, THAT is a true litmus test of the service offered. We were there for a week and everyday we met and made new friends. Ms. Michelle, the Manager at the Children’s activity centre was so warm and homely. She took great care that every child enjoy the stay and personally introduced herself to all kids (the kiddie style) to break the ice. My kids loved spending time there and involved themselves in various activities like, glass painting, tile painting, dancing to name a few.

The staff at the restaurants was courteous and skilled to handle kiddie tantrums.

Besides being one of the most touristy spots in India, Goa is famous for its local cuisine, which is a mix of Konkani and Portugese food. The Holiday Inn has three restaurants, two of which have ample entrees of this. Guess a diet pre and post vacation is a good idea.

The property is situated on the quiet Cavellosim Beach in South Goa, much away from the crowded North Goa beaches (Anjuna and Calangute). It has coach facility to Panjim and Airport at an extra charge (which we found a little on the higher side). Although quiet, it is abuzz with activities if one wishes to. Water sport activities are just two kilometers further from the hotel. One can watch the local fisherman catch and sell the local fish at the Betul village, across the Sal. We also arranged a small yatch (Rs. 1000 for an hour; the locals arranged it when they saw us enquiring) to go fishing at the point where the Sal River meets the Arabian Sea. It is an excellent point where the catch is good.

Goa has a lot to offer and I will not elaborate on the basic and well known facts.

Regarding the property, it is big and beautiful. Neat manicured gardens, coconut trees lining the pathways, greenery everywhere your eyes go with Egrets enjoying it as much. We even had them in our room balcony every time we had our morning tea!

The hotel has a decent, well landscaped pool. It was full with children and families when we went in summers. The beach was clean under the vigilance of life guard – a pleasant sight in India!

We had checked in a one bedroom apartment and it was superbly spacious. It actually had two private bedrooms which were immaculately clean and classily furnished. The kitchenettes were well stocked and the bathrooms were clean and compact.

This resort is good for families with young kids.

We have been there in the first week of Jun with family and kids. We were recieved very warmly at the airport and within 5 min after exiting the airport we had started for the hotel in a good , AC cab. The checkiin was smoothly done and they very liberally ugraded our room from Plaza to Deluxe Garden facing room, eventhough the hotel was all occupied. The staff is very cordial , looks well after you! The beach is nice and quiet with lifeguards monitoring your every move. Since, the time was not of a peak season , most of the restaurants were closed , but Cafe Mardi gras which catered to all our meals was superb. We had opted for the all meals pakage and it was really a worthy choice since right from b'fast to dnner all the three buffets were excellent with wide variety of good food. During our stay of 4N/5D there was no repetition of main course meal. The rooms were good and nicely made. The house keeping dept. is always at your service. The sightseeing tour and the boat cruise was well arranged and on time. Scooters, bikes and cars can be hired from the resort campus itself. The checkout was timely done and since we had to leave before lunch they packed us some veg sandwiches for us. The cabs are always timely arranged. Overall a good experience and maybe next time we may look forward to go to the same place.
