“2 Weeks at Tria Adelphia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

I've been to a few Greek Islands over the years and have always had a good time. All I can add to the very positive comments that this location truly deserves is that this was by far the best holiday the family have ever had.
Philip, Helen and Yannis are outstanding hosts, and ensure that everything runs smoothly. Excellent food, wonderful facilities and pleasantly quiet location.
Arillas itself is a very special resort, with an atmosphere all of its own, with a variety of excellent tavernas, a beautiful beach and plenty of walking trails.
I really can't recommend Tria Adelphia highly enough - make sure you try the spit roasted lamb. Any description couldn't do it justice - but I did [post a photo!!

My husband and I booked a week at the Tria Adelphia as a complete 'get away from it all and just relax' holiday and we couldn't have made a better choice. After reading through the excellent reviews of the Tria Adelphia we went with high expectations and they were all met and exceeded.

I can only echo what other posters have said - Phillip, Helen and Yannis are excellent hosts and made sure we had a fantastic week. The apartments are spacious and clean, and are equipped enough if you want to cook, or Helen's home cooked food is there if not! The pool is deep (no scratched knees in the shallow end!) and is lovely and refreshing with plenty of sun loungers and parasols to go around. The food is excellent and we give another recommendation for the spit roast lamb on Sunday. It just melts off the bone!

All in all a total thumbs up from us and we are sure we will take 'bump' back one day :)

Me and my wife spent a lovely week in Tria Adelphia in August. The staff (Philip and Helen) are very friendly and made the stay even better. It is an easy ten minute walk to the beach that caused no problems at all. The resort of Arillas is lovely with a handful of quality Tavernas to eat at. The food is also excellent in the Tria Adelphia, especially the spit-roast lamb on the sunday. Tria Adelphia is one of the most realxing and friendliest places we have stayed in Greece.

All I can do really is agree with all of the previous good reports, there seems no point covering what has already been covered! It is a 15 minute walk to the beach and centre BUT in fairness thats what they advertise. We will be back and more likely than not it will happen next year. Thanks to Phil and Helena and all the rest of the family for making it a great holiday for us all! Also thanks to everyone we met there for being so friendly , especially Al, Tan and Els !

My first visit to Tria Adelphia was in 1997, selected and booked arbitrarily as a package deal from a brochure. Until then, I had always taken holidays in different places, but tending to favour Greece and her islands.

Since then, three generations of my family have visited Tria Adelphia annually, sometimes twice in a year, and our enjoyment of, and fondness for Arillas and Tria Adelphia has grown year on year. Philip and Eleni and their family, who own and run Tria Adelphia, are always welcoming, and we value their enduring friendship. Nothing is too much trouble. We have seen their family grow, and seen the Tria Adelphia develop and improve over the years.

Quite simply, it is our home from home. The accommodation is perfect for us. We have everything we need for a relaxing break. If you enjoy the Greek way, you will find no better place to stay. Equally good for singles, couples of all ages, families, and particularly safe for kids, in all my travels I am yet to find somewhere with the same pull that Tria Adelphia has. The weather is always excellent, the pace of life suitably slow, and quiet, and above all it is safe.

Tria Adelphia has a variety of rooms, bookable through Thomas Cook as part of a package, or directly with Philip if you prefer to make your own plans. There is a fantastic pool, which is 3.2m deep at one end (the legacy of a now long-gone springboard!). Philip’s bar stocks a wide range of refreshing cold drinks (frappe and draft beer highly recommended), and a superb grill room where the extensive menu caters for all tastes (I urge you to try the daily specials, and definitely eat Greek). All food is delicious, and excellent value for money. All fresh produce used, such as tomatoes , cucumber, and the superb olives, are grown by Philip’s mum and dad. The spit roast lamb served each Sunday evening is legendary in Arillas and beyond. If you really can’t do without it, there’s satellite TV in the bar, and free wi-fi available. There’s a pool table and darts board, a wide range of paperbacks left by guests which is a sort of informal library, and swings and a slide for the kids.

The beach is a pleasant 15 minute walk. The resort centre likewise. The setting is beautifully green, with olive groves and Cyprus trees everywhere. It is not built up or over-developed. Sunsets on the beach are a photographer's dream. There is a superb bakery 3 minutes walk away, with fresh bread and pastries each morning, and a supermarket next door to that for essentials. If you keep your eyes open you can see a wide variety of birds and animals from the Scops owl calling across the valley (one sits sunbathing on the roof of the Bardis Sun apartments during the day), to the jays who nest in the trees opposite Tria Adelphia, and the many small lizards and even the terrapins who live in the stream which runs down the valley (which you can walk next to if you use the Arillas Trail).

On our visit this year, I spoke to the Thomas Cook rep who was new to Arillas. He told me 80-90% of visitors were repeat customers. That says it all.

Having fallen in love with Corfu two years ago, the hunt was on to find the perfect apartments and village - my daughter and I had agreed that should we achieve this then we would revisit for several years. Following extensive research we settled on Arillas. I then chose the Tria due to it's edge of village location. I needed peace and quiet to recuperate from the stresses and strains of a busy life, my daughter needed other preteens to 'hang out' with. Well, as the title suggests, that is exactly what we got! Perfect!

Our room was a typical Greek studio. A small kitchen, twin beds and a small bathroom. Each morning you wake up and open the shutters to a wonderful view of the pool and surrounding countryside - all the apartments face the same direction and there are only two stories. We used the aircon but you could leave the doors open and just close the shutters.

The kitchen is basic but we found that it was cheaper to eat in the restaurant at the Tria than to cook for ourselves. We did often have just one course and an ice cream but being on a budget this allowed us to also eat lunch out too. Even allowing for the exchange rate improvement however, the Tria was very reasonably priced. The menu had an excellent section throughout the day. I would recommend the Greek Breakfast (4 euros 50 cents inclusive of fresh orange juice), the Sunday Roast Lamb or Stifado (I think these were maybe 12 euros / 9 euros respectively - I had stopped checking by that point) and the chicken salad (5 euros 50 cents).

Our rooms were cleaned several times over the two weeks with the bathroom bin being emptied everyday. I had left some washing up in the sink one day and even that was cleaned when I got back!!

The pool is fabulous and allows inflatables. It is very deep at one end with a shallower area roped off for younger children at the other. The deeper water keeps it cooler even in the 40 degree temps we experienced. Bliss! There is a games room with pool and darts plus a book exchange. In the restaurant they sell some snacks. A Greek night was held whilst we were there and it was fab!

Althought the Tria is on the edge of the Village there is a bakery and mini market nearby, within five minutes. I recommend the Cream Pies for breakfast with cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on - although my waistline would urge you not to follow this advice! The walk to the sea and village center is fab on a morning but I would advise you to attempt it with caution mid afternoon, especially with a bag of wet towels, lotion, books and a rubber ring following a beach foray! ( we live and learn)

Things to do: laze around the pool, lots of walking trails in stunning countryside, lots of gorgeous restaurants and tavernas, beach sports ( bananas, rings, pedolos, canoes), boat hire ( very reasonable and great fun), tourist trips ( aqualand, horse riding, Corfu town, cruises).

Roll on summer 2013.

Also, a special thank you to Philip, Helen and Yiannis - fabulous hosts with a fantastic friendly approach. I hope the rest of the season is prosperous for you all. See you next year.

Room Tip: It's fine to simply relax - who cares if you hardly move from the pool side!

arriving very early in the morning after no sleep we were thrilled to arrive to a gorgeous, clean, spacious apartment with a private balcony. after a nap we headed down to the beautiful pool & bar area in search of some food. we were welcomed warmly by the owner who, from that day on, remembered our names & room number. there is plenty to choose from off the menu with both greek & british options. the bar is well stocked & there is an ice cream freezer full of ice cream & ice lollies to help you cool down. everything is reasonably priced.

there are plenty of free sun loungers & parasols & swings & slide for kids. the pool is lovely. Arillas is around a 15 - 20 min walk away which is nice in the cooler early evening but a bit of a hot walk in th blazing sun. there is a shop & bakery 2 mins walk from the apartments where you can get milk, bread & all your basics.

the Tria Adelphia is in a lovely & quiet area so perfect for a relaxing holiday. our 8 year old did not get out of the pool all day & it was nice to be able to relax & know he was perfectly safe. A lovely holiday.
