Amazing setting some of the best beaches I have seen although the 'Beach boys' can be annoying generally they are harmless and good fun. The hotel grounds its self are spectacular and you forget that you are in Kenya,Africa and could be anywhere in the Caribbean such is the white sand and crystal blue water.
The biggest surprise was the food! The food and catering was amazing and super clean, the food hall itself is an experience.

I would say the rooms need a bit of TLC the bathrooms are pretty basic and the room amenities are poor. Special mention for the staff who did an amazing job in making us feel welcome at all times.

Room Tip: Don't leave your food unattended the monkey's will have them away!

As Kenyan who love travelling, I can definitely say that this is one of the best places I have been to
in Kenya. The rates for locals are the best rates that I have ever come across in Kenya, affordable for all! The true definition of paradise!

Room Tip: All rooms have an excellent view!

We had a fantastic time at this hotel. We stayed in a superior bungalow (2411) in the Maridadi section for the 1st couple of days and then in a superior room in the Kole Kole section (921) after our amazing NGodo safari. So we got the best of both worlds and sampled two of the three areas. The entertainment team worked really hard to put on some great shows in the evening....Lion King, We will Rock you, Mango Juice and an amazing acrobatic show to name but a few. Leo and Juluga are a real asset to the team. Do make sure you take your zumba gloves as the zumba coach is just brilliant, although it would have taken a miracle to get me to be co-ordinated . There was a great selection of food in all the restaurants, I could have stayed to eat breakfast all day. Plenty of drinks to choose from at the bars of which there are many and yes they do only serve 1/2 of the draught beer but don't have a problem giving you two if you ask. You can purchase branded alcohol if you prefer. All the staff are friendly, very smart and always willing to help. There is shower gel, shampoo and soap in the bathroom which is refilled daily also fresh towels daily if you wish. After safari I had a full body massage which lasted for 75mins and cost 4000ksh it was fantastic and highly recommended. The monkeys were a real bonus to our hotel stay. We just loved watching there antics and on one day had a real treat when they came out and paraded with all the babies. My husband and daughter went on many scuba dives and came back with some fantastic tales of whales, dolphins, turtles etc. There was one bar man who stood out from all the rest Hamidi. This is definitely one of our best holidays, and we have been to some fantastic long-haul places.....Jamaica, Cuba & Mexico Do not hesitate to book this hotel! any questions please ask.

We recently spent our second holiday at The Baobab and once again had a superb time.
We stayed in the Maridadi wing and had a wonderful room, very comfortable and well situated.
All of the staff are so welcoming and nice and there is little I could find fault with so please do not be put off by any negative reviews.
We took a safari with the excellent JT and I have put a separate review for this. One big advantage of using JT is that you do not have to pack up and vacate your room while away. The people who booked with the local company Pollmans ,had to do exactly that and then were put in a different room when they returned. Not ideal!
The food is of a generally high standard and the monkeys are great fun although you do need to keep your wits about you! I can only endorse, however, the comments about the beach boys that others have made. They are pleasant enough and are never rude, but they are a real nuisance and very few people ventured onto the beach for this reason.
Overall we were very pleased and certainly would return again.

Room Tip: Try to get a second floor room in the Maridadi wing. If you E-Mail them before you go they will try...

We stayed here first two weeks of sept, hotel is gorgeous fab views of Indian Ocean as well as three great pools all with pool bars including a swim up bar . Place is so laid back you can't help but relax . All staff are friendly an polite an go out of there way to make your holiday special. We booked this hotel as we were going on safari as most people in the hotel did too . We went with jt safaris whom I would strongly recommend too , he made our safari stress free from start to finish. The hotel is full of its own wild life with all different types of monkeys bush babies iguana just to name a few. Had the most amazing two weeks of our life would love to return to baobab in the future

Had a couple of nights at the resort. Well kept facilities, friendly staff, good food so all all a very nice stay but...
We went with children and one thing to be very aware of is the many monkeys and baboons that roam confidently around the whole resort. They pose a threat by snatching food from your hand/plate/table/room and we even had one friend who had a confrontation with a large baboon trying to snatch something from their pram with their 5 month old in it. To be honest the situation is a little out of control and the management don't seem too interested to do anything significant about it; it leaves you feeling a little insecure especially if you have children. It is only for this reason that i didn't rate the resort higher.

Stayed here at the end of a safari week and change of pace was good. Very relaxing. Had a fantastic room. We booked in maridadi wing and the rooms and bathrooms are HUGE and very well looked after. The balcony was great with a large lounger and seats with table, though you have to be careful of monkeys!
Only shame was that the hotel next door was loud and played lots of loud music so early night was not easy!
Food was good, three big restaurants, same food in all I think. We preferred maridadi as quieter, but matter of taste. Apparently maridadi only did light lunch, but we were very satisfied!
Drinks were fine. All inclusive ones included Tusker draft, which my other half informs me is less nice than bottles and was served in halves which was a bit annoying; wine which was annoyingly served cold no matter the colour; small selection of cocktails and spirits and good selection of mixers. Bottled water also all inclusive which was great.
Lovely beach was difficult to negotiate due to number of beach boys, we went on at a variety of times, and always hassled.
Pools were amazing- loved them all. Shame gym wasn't all inclusive, but it was small so might have been overrun if it was. Didn't feel hassled by the entertainment team.
Didn't feel busy despite being big. Always space in restaurants and loungers by pools.
Some people were completely stupid with the monkeys- if you take food out of the restaurant (specifically told not to by the staff and multiple signs), don't then run away from monkeys screaming as they chase you- though this does provide amusement for other guests it encourages the monkeys to search for food. They will go through your bags by the pools too! The monkeys can also get through the fly screens so shut your doors- you have been warned!
