“Superb Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2011

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Leopard Beach Hotel on Diani beach. This is the 4th hotel that we have stayed at in the Diani area and is by far the best. We had upgraded to a Chui cottage and was impressed with the condition, facilities and seaview.
The best thing about this hotel is the staff who are all genuinely concerned that all guests have a great holiday.
The facilities are great and there is plenty of room for whatever you want to do. There are several a la carte restarants but the Horizon Buffet provided a great selection of meals which were well cooked and presented so we did not bother with the a la carte options. The hotel also moved the dining to alternative areas including the beach on several occasions.

There is a wide selection of wildlife in the hotel which includes monkeys and baboons.
We will definatley be returning to this hotel in the future.

Many thanks to the staff and management for a great holiday.

Alex & Val

Have recently returned from staying at this hotel.
Stayed in rooms 219 and 502 the last being an upgrade.
Your made to feel very welcome by all the hotel staff.
Food mainly buffet was of a high quality always fresh and plenty of it.
Plenty of wildlife in the hotel grounds to keep you happy moreso the colobus monkeys and there
young on my last day i saw 2 hupback whales just beyond the reef.
Swimming pool was always kept clean and and pool area really nice.
beaches where amazing with lots of shade if you needed it.
The people working in this hotel deserve a big thankyou they all work hard and always have a
big smile.
I could not fault this hotel in anyway and would be happy to stay here again.
So asante to you all.

Stayed in hotel for a week at the end of September. Had booked a superior sea view room. We were shown into the first floor room of block 4 to a room where the balcony had been incorporated into the room area so no balcony or sitting out area(Room size same as ground floor rooms). A few words to the porters and we eventually were moved into the room next door which had a balcony but was a smaller room. However the view of the sea was good, probably the best of all the accommodation blocks, so we decided to accept it. I did mention to the Tour rep the next day and he said standard rooms were on the top floor and superior ones on the ground floor. When I said I was on the top floor he got a manager who said all rooms in block 4 were superior rooms!!!!
As regards superior rooms with sea views, block 4 would appear to be the only block with uninterrupted sea views, albeit at an angle. Other sea view blocks appear to be mainly blocked by the row of Chui cottages between them and the sea.

The rooms were not large and nothing special, particularly compared with the rooms at the Amboseli and Tsavo Safari Lodges which were of a very high standard.
Bathroom small but adequate, the new showers ok but splashed all over the floor due to the short side screen.

I would also have to say that the linen was a bit 'tired'. Had a 'used' look and feel. This applied to room linen as well as beach towels and recliner towelling cushions

As regards the main part of the hotel it was superb. Lovely bars with lots of wood, great staff (Lots of Jambo's) and well kept. The 'adults only' swimming pool was a great idea, little used but appreciated by those who did use it. My wife had a couple of massages in quite a unique
spa area.

Food was a bit school canteen ish with onions in everything(which I do not like). However each night there was a different theme which meant that there was a different main course whether it was carved joints of meat or BBQ'd fish. Great beach BBQ with music and one other outside meal each week.

Apart from my comments above overall the hotel is great. Great location and grounds, great staff and good service.

Room Tip: See my comments. Block 4 is best block. Every other room on the first floor has the balcony incorpor...

justnreturned having a fantastic time.service excellent but reception staff do need to be more helpful and friendly. we found all other members of staff very friendly. standard rooms are large and bright and are on the top floor superior rooms onground floor we stayed in both as we got upgraded as it was a 25th wedding aniversary. superior rooms are worth the extra cost. also we would say that it is worth paying the extra so you can use the chi grill as this is superb and the main restaurant food is not always of 4 star standard this is mainly on the waiter service meals for the main corse. african night and barbecue nights excellent. grounds of the hotel amazing would love to go back.also had a 3 day safari all booked with kuoni and this was well organised and a brilliant experience.

Room Tip: block 2 standard rooms good location block 3 superior rooms

just returned from this hotel after a 4 day safari which was all booked with kuoni and was excellent. this was a holiday booked for a special occassion and the hotel is situated in fantastic gardens with a good standard of rooms we stayed in the standard room which was well furnished we did get upgraded to superior room for last 3 nights and these were very nicely furnished and large with a small seating area . would recommend you upgrade so you can use the chui grill food fantastic here food in horizon restaurant hit or miss, generally buffet good but table service meals not so good. hotel has 2 small private beaches 1 for adults only. you must pay a visit to ali babas cave for a meal free mini bus service from hotel book at reception. great hotel only reception staff that need to be more helpful all other staff excellent.

Room Tip: block 2 room 216 standard room and block 3 room 305 or 310 superior room standard rooms are first fl...

We stayed here for a week. And we loved it. The rooms are great and the location is brilliant. The only thing is that the food can become repetitive. All in all a great vacation

we had a very pleasent stay the rooms were first class with your own private garden, we were not always able to go down to the beach as it was a very steep path down and coming up as my wife is in a wheelchair, so we spent most of our time at the pool in the grounds which was very nice a quite which we liked, there was always a member of staff on call to get you drinks and a snacks at dinner time and nothing was too much trouble for them

Room Tip: alway go for the better classs room
