5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2011

my spouse and myself had an early booking in the morning only to be surprised with a free breakfast and that was the biginning of an unforgetable visit to diani.ranging from the beutiful trees, flowers, amazing beach and i seriously mean amazing we were extremely exited and happy to be there. I love seing a smile on my spouses face and only when she fell asleep thats when the smile faded away
a lot of things were excellent i dont think il be able to write all of them but one that caught my eye were the rooms and their surrounding, all the ambience both inside and outside the room made me think of not leaving the room only until i remembered how beutiful the white sand beach was. we never knew what to expect at dinner since every evening we were surprised with various delicious meals, entertainment and drinks all we could do was wait to get surprised
I almost forgot the pool and spa yes another favourite, i could go on and on but i just hope everyone in this world could visit leopard just to make the world a happy place
thinking of a beutiful place on earth think leopard

Have just returned from the most relaxing two weeks at Leopard Beach Resort. The hotel is excellent with beautiful gardens, pool and beach. Our room was perfectly adequate for a standard room, although the bathroom was a little dated, but was not a problem as we didn't spend all day in it! We took advantage of recharging our batteries on the beach and around the pool The staff are the sweetest, most friendly people ever, and could not do enough to make us happy. The food was excellent for such a large hotel and we really appreciated the hardwork that the kitchen staff, waiters and waitresses' went to, to make all mealtimes but especially the beach and garden dinners a perfect evening. Our thanks to Janet, Julius, George, Fay and Gideon in the restaurant, and to Fred our room man, who were all just lovely. We flew to the Masai Mara for two nights to do a safari and had the most amazing time at The Governors' Camp which I would highly recommend - just make sure you book through one of the reputable travel agents in the village, to get it at the right price, and exceptional value for money.

We booked a 2 week stay at Leopard Beach Hotel on a half board basis. The staff were excellent, the breakfast was excellent and the evening buffet was good choice but a little boring after a while. The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained and very pretty. There are two area's of beach one of which is the quiet beach (adult only) this is wonderful, kept very clean daily of sea weed washed up, and attention to beach service is excellent. The only negative I have about this hotel, is the rooms although reasonably comfortable, are small and out of date, particularly the bathrooms.

We booked 2 safari's through the reps on the beach against the advise of the holiday rep in the hotel. We paid less than half the price than going through the hotel tour operator and the one to one service we got was far better than being bundled along with others. I cannot recommend 'Damma Tours & Safaris' enough, the manager called David Mutheke [-] Web: dammatours.com, was brilliant and personally chauffeured us to and from the small airport, where we flew to the Masia Mara and stayed in The Olumara Camp for 2 nights, this camp has just 11 tents and is out of this world for comfort, food and service. We also booked through David (Damma Tours) a drive safari to Tsavo reserve and Tata Hills and stayed at the famous Saltlick Lodge. This lodge is fantastic, set up on stilts looking more like Hogworts from a Harry Potters movie than a game lodge in the middle of the African game reserve, herds of elephant come down to drink from the waterhole beneath the breakfast area. If you are thinking of a safari like this, speak to David and tell him 'King David' recommended you, he will do you a really good deal.

In all we had a wonderful holiday, made special and exciting by going on the safaris.

Spent my 50th birthday there recently and I couldn't have wished for a better venue. Excellent rooms, friendly staff (unlike other African holidays I've experienced), the food was first rate (both buffet & A La Carte). The fish platter at the A La Carte made for a great birthday meal.

Didn't find the "Beach Boys" a problem at all - to be honest, you've got to be pretty dumb to bump into them in the first place as they stick out like a sore thumb.

Friday evening was a pleasant surprise - they relocate the entire buffet restaurant out onto the beach!

Our room was great - plenty of electrical sockets (UK 3 pin plugs, just so you know) to charge batteries and a selection of international TV stations to watch. There is internet available (pay-for-use at a central location) but the Cocktail Bar has free WiFi.

The smaller (child-free) swimming pool is worth seeking out, both for the tranquility and for the ape/monkey visitors that pass through. There's also a tortoise enclosure between the apartments, if you know where to look (several adults & 20 babies when we were there).

We took the Masai Mara Safari & Pilla Pipa Snorkelling trips from the hotel - well recommended. Masai trip is the most expensive, but heard from other travellers that the Tsavo East & West trips were also well worth it.

Room Tip: Look for the quieter swimming pool by the Spa!

Be prepared to pay 50 dollars per day to upgrade to a decent room. The standard rooms are nowhere near 4 star quality. Grotty bathroom, hard grey towels, rough bedding. Rock hard mattress, faulty hairdryer and shower head defunct were all replaced very promptly however its a shame that these niggles were not picked up by staff rather than clients having to make a complaint. The rooms need to be reburbished to an acceptable 4 star standard. The room did rather spoil what otherwise was a fabulous experience. All the staff were welcoming and attentive, the food was varied and delicious. the gardens were simply outstanding. If the hotel addresses reburbishment of the rooms it would make the place quite magical.

We stayed at Leopard Beach for 2 weeks in March on a half board basis with Thomsons, and wished we had booked for longer. The hotel is set in beautiful flower filled gardens complete with monkeys, bushbabies and exotic birds. The staff were very polite, friendly and attentive, and couldn't do enough for us during our holiday. Special thanks to Esther, Janet and Fred. The food was varied and delicious with both buffet and table service. We really enjoyed the evening meals taken outside in the garden and the BBQ on the beach. Very comfortable sun loungers with padded mattresses provided on both of the private beaches. The only downside was trying to get into the sea without being constantly pestered by the "beach boys" who would try to sell you anything from a necklace to a safari, however, the hotel guards were quick to intervene if required. The standard room we stayed in was clean and the air conditioning good, but the bathroom was quite dated, although we were told these would be upgraded this summer. Once again a big thankyou to everyone for making our holiday one of the best we have ever had and looking forward to returning very soon. Chris and Lyn
