It's a hotel in a very good location but their services suit business travellers, not leisure travellers.
It's dining is too formal for life and very few TV channels exist in the entertainment system.

Just returned from this resort last week and although it was nice have stayed in far better on previous trips to Kenya. The best on Diani beach it is most certainly not as I have stayed in four different hotels on Diani and found the Diani sea resort head and shoulders above this one for both quality of accommodation and service. Nice place but far better out there!

I had the pleasure of staying in this hotel in a cottage. I watched the sunrise right across. Great trees dot this property and they have even named some. The beach is pristine this side and quite private too. You can enjoy totally. The breakfast buffet was amazing .
The people helpful.
They have a nook where the birds have built their nests and you can sit on a bench and hear them warble away!
The only thing is they dont tell you that they are serving tea and coffee on the house and the timings. So just remember to ask!

Room Tip: Just check out the toilets thoroughly..many rooms have plumbing issues

The individual cottages are a real plus. The rooms were comfortable, although I my fear of bugs and lizards was definitely challenged. Guess its to be expected in the tropics. The food was fantastic and the service left nothing to be desired. I could vacation here every year. The beach was relaxing and beautiful. We partied at Forty Thieves down the road. Overall, a great resort.

My husband and I stayed here with friends back in June following a week on safari and loved it. It was their low season so was very quiet (only 10 rooms taken some nights) but great for us as we got upgraded to a beach side bungalow. The rooms were clean and spacious with a window seat with views out to the beach/ocean so even on the rainy days I could sit reading while out to sea. We could also lie in bed and watch the sunrise and watch the fishing boats sail by in the early morning. The rooms was large with a great bathroom (with separate toilet) and both air conditioning and ceiling fan. I am not sure what more you could ask for. The only thing that annoyed us was that we had to pay for the safe which I didn't agree with but had to use. The beach was lovely with rolling waves while we were there. You do get beach boys hassling you but you can just ignore them plus there is always a security guard keeping an eye open for you. One day I walked along the waters edge on my own and the security guard walked along the beach along side me to keep an eye so never felt uncomfortable. As it was quiet the Bahari Cove seafood restaurant on the beach wasn't open so can't comment on that but the food in the main restaurant was first class, again as it was quiet we had out dinners served to us (set menu but loads of choice) but the breakfast was buffet style with loads of choice plus you could have omelettes and scrabbled egg cooked fresh. All the staff were great from the restaurant and bar staff, reception, gardeners and pool and room staff who kept our rooms immaculate. Special mention to Ann in the restaurant (all the best for the new baby), David at reception, William at the bar, Gabriel at the pool and our `room boy` sorry forgotten his name. There is a water sports centre at the hotel behind Bahari Cove but we didn't use it but we did take a walk along the road to the nearest shops. There is a good, cheap gift shop about 20 minutes walk away which is well worth going to if you are looking for gifts to take home (much cheaper than on safari) but the supermarket is nearer 45 minutes walk so would recommend taking a taxi if you go there which you can book with reception. As there were four of us we felt quite safe walking long the road but we did get some hassle from locals wanted to sell us things but you'd expect that. One bit of advise take/buy mosquito spray etc. as in June the bathroom was full of them. So you are looking for somewhere to stay in Diani Beach do consider the Indian Ocean Beach Resort as it has everything you need (shame it doesn't offer all inclusive).

Room Tip: Definitely worth paying extra for a beach side bungalow although all the rooms looked OK. Some room...

I have stayed in one of the thatched cottages right on the beach and would highly recomend.
the staff are friendly and the area safe, but watch out for the monkeys! they will nick anything! and the rip tide on the beach, there are warning signs but I didnt see them till after I had an interesting and dam scarey swimming situation,,, lol,
But location and service are second to none, I just sat under a coconut tree in the sun and was pampered,,,, excellent, got to fly around kenya, see killimojaro and go on safari from here too, loved the water jet ski safari through the mangroves and nature reserves near Zanzibar, x

Room Tip: must have a beach house!

the hotel is located in diani and its the last hotel...the location is fantastic, the beach is very nice...the furniture in the room is a bit old needs changing...the room i was booked in, had a TV which wasn't working, the ceiling fan was faulty and the connectivity for the WIFI was poor, but thanks to Amina Noroge, she changed my room immediately after voicing my concerns.

breakfast was lousy so was the food, the facility has only one swimming pool,,,customer service was excellent....linda, amina and david tambara...u made my stay very pleasant..

the rooms have safety boxes, though very small, and they charge 175ksh, per day for the secret code, the WiFi is also at a cost 500ksh per hr.
