“Beautiful and safe accommodation!!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

What a marvelous place to stay! Extremely white beach! beautiful blue sea on walking distance.
African Dream Cottages is a very private place to stay with very good security. The cottage is cosy, clean, and well furnished. A big comfortable bed with nice and good mosquito net and a really nice warm rain shower!
The owner Bianca is a very friendly lady! Willing and able to take you to the most beautiful places you would not have seen without here!

Stayed here for 9 days in May during the rainy season. A very pleasant and well run hotel. The grounds are well maintained and a definite feature. The rooms are well set out and kitchen well equipped if you wish to cook for yourself. Having said that the food at the restaurant is well prepared and excellent value. Staff here are very efficient and friendly. Having said that it was the Off season and there were very few guests. The Pool is clean and a good size with plenty of sun loungers. Although not located on the beach it is only a short walk away and is close to 40 thieves which is a major attraction. Throughout the stay i never felt unsafe and the apartments are very secure. A very pleasant stay at a very reasonable price. I am very fussy when it comes to accommodation and often critical. I was impressed and will return again later in the year.

Room Tip: No tip they are all excellently located around the pool

We stayed at African Dream Cottages two days ago. First impression was good, nothing to complain about until we were awakened by bites. We turned on the light a saw some bed bugs. The morning after we told the owner about that and she said well you know we never know who we rent a room to, sometime a rent rooms just for a couple of hours...These are probably from the previous guests. We were kind of shocked to be honest. I had bites all over and we haven't sleep and it seems like she didn't care at all. She didn't even apologized, neither did she offer some kind of compensation. I've worked in the tourism industry for the past 15 years and such a thing sounds very unprofessional to me. Yes such a thing can happen but something should be done when a client complain about such an important issue! We live in Nairobi and we had to disinfect everything on arrival (we found some eggs). Since they can spread all over our apartment, these bugs have to be taken seriously. We are lucky since we have access to facilities at home to disinfect, but it is such an huzzle and buzzle! We are very disappointed by the owner's response and by the lack of professionalism. We wouldn't advise anyone to stay there.

Stayed here for a couple of days with my fiancée and friends. The place is epicly serene. The cottage was uber comfy and the wait staff were absolutely fantastic. Special commendations to Patrick, Grace and the Chefs who made our stay so good. Will definitely be back. Keep up the great work.

Had one night here 2/11/13 and was very impressed. So quiet at night and so calm during the day. The set up with the pool in the centre and the bungalows around the outside is perfect. The rooms are basic but adequate. The little sofa chair at the front door is a brilliant little touch to sit and relax on. The pool is is very relaxing as well. Had and very good bacon and eggs breakfast as well. All in all very worth much worth the money and I would not stay anywhere else in Diani.

My wife and I accompanied with a couple friends from Mombasa town visited this place in June 2013 and its was an amazing experience.
It's located in Diani 400metres from the main road and its a kilometre away from the beach(Forty thieves), we also have a supermarket/ATMs cashpoints/Airstrip and fast food restaurants a stone throw away.
Patrick who happens to be the manager of the cottages comes in handy for bookings, excursions and planning for car hire/taxi.The rest of the staff are courteous and considerate. The meals can be prepared by their chefs at an added cost or still you can cook for yourself.
The cottages are spacious, fitted with a king size bed, mosquito net, fridge, gas cooker, utensils and also a hot shower. The swimming is refreshing and warm at night thanks to the coastal weather therefore you can plunge for a swim at night. They also have a make shift "beach" for basking to lie or relax in a pleasant warm atmosphere. The only thing lacking was the Tv, hoping they have replacet it by now.The Mung'alas'(Alex)

African Dream Cottages is a just a home away from home. The warm and personalized welcome from the staff and Bianca makes you feel like family. The place is clean and quiet, secure and great aesthetics. The pool is heavenly especially at night when its warm and very relaxing.
The food was great all the time and cant forget the sumptuous ugali (mashed corn flour meal) and sukumawiki (kale), it just felt like home.

The location is central and near all of Diani's supermarkets, boutiques and night clubs. its also 400m from the famous 40s Diani beach. The staff were on standby to advise us on the best spots for the nightlife.

Would recommend if the 'shortcut' from the cottages to the Diani Road can be made wider and more permanent.

We will definitely be back.
