“Wonderful place, so friendly!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2014

We just stayed at Stilts and had a wonderful couple of days! We didn´t book ahead and although they were full they still managed to put us up in a tent (which was a better option than the private room we had in the other place we ended up staying) so that was perfect. We moved into a cottage the next night which was lovely, the place is beautiful with little pathways through the trees, the bar/reception area is a great place to hang out and chat or have a few drinks/play games with other guests... the whole place is very clean, they have hot water showers :) The best thing about Stilts though is how friendly all the staff are, always smiling and every single person working there will go out of their way to help you and go above and beyond what is necessary! Jane will welcome you with her beautiful smile and Wayne will give you all the information you need for your stay in Diani! The food was tasty and arrived quickly...Our highlight was feeding the Bush babies!! The are adorable, even the greedy one who pushes the others out the way, we loved it!! Thanks Wayne, Jane and everyone there!! Shelley xx

i have done camping before but this is my favorite spot. The reception we got from when we called to book a reservation to our actual visit was just wonderful. The cottages are very spacious are well set under trees and you can actually see monkeys peeping through the windows, which is really amazing!! The staff are friendly and very very helpful, the food is yummy. I would highly recommend anyone to try out Stilts Backpackers for that wild camping experience.
I would like to thank Andy and all staff at Stilts for making our stay one to remember. We are definitely coming back soon.

Stilts was one of the best accommodations we had in Kenya!! If you're looking for an African wildlife experience where you live close to nature and not spending too much money.. Stilts is the place to be..

Beautiful Diani beach is only 350m away but the beauty of stilts is that you're living in a tree house with the monkeys! There's so much activity going on!! The Columbus monkeys playing in the higher tress, Sky monkeys cunningly looking for tourists left overs and the lovely bush babies who visit only at night!!

What an amazing experience!! Will definitely stay again!!

Hello,
It was a pleasure having you stay. I think you are the first people from Malta we have had to stay. I hope those cheeky monkeys did not give you too much trouble!!
Hopefully we will see you here at Stilts again soon.
Cheers

I stayed here from mid Dec to Mid Jan 2014 and absolutely loved. The owner Andy and his staff have created the perfect little get a way. The tree houses are super cool and fun. The bar is very relaxed and the staff very friendly and helpful. The prices are very good across the board. Big Ray and James do a great job in the kitchen and are always happy to make adjustments to the menu whenever possible. I was even able to pick up a few things at the local market and ask them to prepare it for me. Some other guests even went on a fishing trip and brought their catch back to stilts and Ray was happy to grill it up for them. I would totally recommend this place to anyone coming to the area. Thanks to the entire Stilts team for making my holiday a great one.

Hi Wayne,

Was great to have you. I am glad that the wind this year was very good, nothing more frustrating (for everyone) to have a Kite Surfer sitting on the beach waiting for the wind to come up!!
Until next time.

Cheers

Andy

I loved the rooms at this hotel. They are secluded surrounded by the jungle and wild life. Be careful leaving anything outside your room! The monkeys will get into it. One day I woke up from a nap and had a baboon on my porch. So cool! This hotel had a lovely hang out area that was easy to meet other travellers. One of my fave places I've ever stayed on my travels. Its only a couple minutes to the beach.

We stayed in this place just for a night, waiting on our plane back to Europe.
What makes it special is the concept of it. Eco friendly, into the wold, with total privacy. Just a few metres to the Ali Baba beach bar (nice burger, not nice cocktails).

The entrance to this establishment calms all your worries from the outside world, leaving you with an ambience only real in sweet dreams. Located only five minutes walk from the beautiful, and I mean beautiful beach, the cost of accommodation and meals is unrealistically low!

With the middle aged proprietor residing within the establishment, all items are done to perfection. The luxurious king size bathrooms tell it all. The delicious meals are served in real generous portions! Well, unless you see it, you cannot believe how comfortable the cottages and tree houses are!
