Taking the bends all the down to Assos was so worth it! Parking in the first car park we came to on the left-side of the village, we almost immediately sensed a serenity to the place. It was a mixture of some devasted houses (left standing after the 1953 earthquake) and newer properties, it is a picturesque village set around a quaint little harbour with hillside views and a fort overlooking the handful of restaurants which serve good food at the usual prices! Whether we could stay here for longer than a day, I'm not sure, as it is very small with possibly not that much going on, but for the time we were there, it was a lovely place to be! I would recommend it for a visit on your travels up the West Coast and beyond!
