This was my first time to Greece and I would absolutely go again. The hotel was an absolute dream location! Ok the beds were a bit hard and I would have liked a small sofa in the room (we had a family room with three beds in one room, no separate bedrooms) but it was nice and clean and roomy, everything worked so no bits falling off or anything.
We walked up and down the beach and I did find the sea directly outside the hotel was probably the clearest part of the beach as further up there was a bit of debris and churned up sand (only from leaves and the like, nothing untoward!)It was very clear, pretty shallow quite far out so ideal for younger children or people who do not like deep water.
As with most of these hotels, there was a first to put their towels on the sunbeds gets them for the day (a few put theirs out but barely used them throughout the day so a bit annoying), you have to pay 5 euro for beds on the grass which are pretty shaded due to the palm trees and 6 euro for the beach ones. Pool side beds are free if you can grab one!
I am quite a fussy eater but I did find the snack bar menu was adequate with a good choice and decent enough food, music played throughout the day and evening but not loud just gives the place a nice atmosphere. I do think they could devise a decent evening menu, maybe being a bit more adventurous to get evening trade as it was usually very quiet, whereas the hotel next door seemed very busy. Having said that, the little town is a very short walk with plenty of bars and restaurants so not a major issue.
I would also recommend this hotel as it seemed to be a great place to relax as it had a good mix of clientèle (older, younger, families, etc, so it never seemed too noisy or too overcrowded). We went from 9-16th August and the weather was pretty spot on, it was lovely and warm right through to evening but most days had a nice gently breeze so it wasnt stifling. I also didnt feel at all intimidated by the Greek men as I do in some countries, I would definitely feel comfortable being there without a male companion. We booked through Thomas cook so transfers were smoothly handled, the airport is a short journey from this location. I did not find the breakfast a problem but would imagine its a bit limited if you were staying more than a week (bread rolls, a few sweet cakes, toast facility, tea/coffee, juice, greek youghurt, honey, chocolate spread, jams, marmalade, fruit, usually peaches and water melon, two cereals, small sausages, tomatoes, beans, mushrooms, fried or scrambled eggs and some cold meats and cheese).
The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels and beds made (not sure how often the sheets were changed).TV with Sky and BBC news and sometimes English films and some American day time type shows, music channel).
All in all, I would love to go back again and I am not the type to keep going to the same place but would love to visit this place again. Very pleasant holiday :)
Rooms overlook the sea may be a bit noisy as they also overlook the bar and pool but the hotel never...
