we had spent , two nights , and i think it was enough . Regardings the rate ( superior for 95 $ ) , room was very simply and impersonnal , we expected to discover something better, and we felt very dissapionted , because we living in thailand , and usually for this price you can found a good place like our advice for PRABANG for 65$ , so great if we compare them ,with BAAN bayan or CASA del mare located in huan hin , so beautiful and a really worthy for the price . But in SAI KAEW , what a shame .
Don't be scare to visit some rooms , and try to catch one , near a beach and a restaurant , because some rooms get a tiny bathroom , with just painting'floor instead , a tyles .
since this stay , we had noticed several blunders and negligences among ...you will arrive in the hotel by a muddy trail without a lights , the path for your room is horrible , garden needs some cares . The white terrace was terrific for breakfast , but unfortunnatly mostly umbrella were torn and broken , woooah ..
What a surprise to discover a cheap beachchair , but the most important , the managers are building some others rooms , besides a lobby , ( then we get a noises ....but they not discount at all for this inconvenience ......) instead to renove this antiquated hotel bungalows .....that sound like they prefer a profit .
Do as you please , but for us , i had never seen , someone runs a hotel by this way , it was a first and the last times in this place

  • Liked — the beach was cleaned every morning
  • Disliked — the really poor room with the tiny and old TV

The end of our two week holiday with Explore was three days at Ko Samet, which rounded off an amazingly varied and at times quite demanding trip. The resort is reasonably well equipped (though the pool is hardly worth visiting, especially given the very close proximity of a warm ocean) and the chalets are clean and adequately furnished. The air-con and other chalet facilities work well and they all have a small balcony outside; on which a bucket of clean water is thoughtfully provided to clean the sand off your sandles. The restaurant provides a wide range of fresh and cooked items for breakfast but the other meals there are rather over-priced, compared to the many other good restaurants along the coast. The in-house massage service is VERY over-priced! You're better off walking to the main street, turn right and about 200 metres along on the opposite side you'll find an excellent massage service at a fraction of the price. I'll attach a photo of the owner so you'll recognise her.

This is one of the best resorts on the island..so keep it between us!
When booking be clear on where you room will be. The resort has a restaurant and its older rooms (called superior i think) on the beach front and the newer (and excellent ) cottages are off the beach. This means the better rooms are off the main beachfront but that area has its own private 'beach' front to the side with a second cafe building.
The cottages have everything needed: TV and cable, fridge, hot water, etc... lovely green finish inside with modern designs to fittings. The shower is out the door in the toilet area and is cool - as no roof!!
Some cottages have swings outside also and there is a swimming pool in the middle of the newer cottage area.
Been twice, the second time with our 2 year old, both times we loved it. Staff paid special attention to our little girl and often took us to the front on the golf buggy, also at night coming in from the beach security would walk with us and light the way.
Lovely place...

I stayed at here with friends for 2 nights in September 08. We booked as a group, and on arrival at the resort had our fair share of problems checking in. At first the reception staff didn't appear to be very helpful but eventually they sorted us out and everyone was happy.
My friend and i shared a twin deluxe cottage, which was beautiful much much nicer than we were expecting. However please be advised that the "twin beds" are a double mattress base with two single mattresses on it made up as two separate beds. Luckily for us we are good friends and didn't mind, although i know some of our male friends were not as happy about this arrangement!!!! There is a small "day bed" in the room under the window which we discovered when visiting a friends "triple" room is the third bed!! It is not a proper bed by any means, it does not have a mattress,
only foam padding and is quite a bit smaller than both the length and width of a standard single bed. Despite these small problems the rooms are beautifully appointed, with good air conditioning, gorgeous partially outdoor bathrooms, bath and beach towels provided, complimentary bottles of water and even foot washing facilities outside the room to prevent sand getting everywhere!!
The beach is perfect soft white sand with lots bars and restaurants dotted along it. There are people walking past every so often selling all sorts from delicious fresh fruit, freshly cooked chicken and seafood squewers to sarongs!!
In the evenings there are plenty of restaurants to choose from, the ones we ate in were delicious with a vast array of things to chose from and very cheap!
The breakfast buffet in the rim talay restaurant was delicious with lots to choose from, including freshly cooked omelettes, eggs, bacon, cereals, pastries and fruit.
I think the hotel is excellent value for money and worth everyone of its 4 stars. I can't wait to return in November for two weeks with my boyfriend.
