We have just returned from a two week stay at My Meric and can honestly say we had a great time. We did experience some of the problems like having either no water at all or freezing water, but this was explained by people in the village who said that the whole village has limited water so it couldnt be helped as the village was so small. The location was absolutely perfect with beautiful views - we were on the 10th floor and sometimes did find the lift annoying. The hotel staff worked so hard to try and make your stay as good as possible. The food was Turkish- so if your expecting a full fry up every day and chips then stay at home. Your holiday is what you make it yourself and just moaning all the time is going to make your stay horrible. Just try and have as much fun as possible. We liked the village so much that we went out almost every night we would definately recommend Bob's Bar on the main street with Peter Crouch the resident barman - we found the staff here fantastic and so friendly - Adem, Mehmet and Erman were great and kept us entertained!! We found it inexpensive to drink and eat out. During the days we spent on the beach we made friends with one of the restaurant owners Ali (Burats) who couldn't do enough for us bringing us free apple tea throughout the day which was delicious. We enjoyed the holiday and will definately return but would go self catering so that we don't feel tied to the hotel and experience more of the village. Also we would recommend the 5 bays boat trip with Simba the dog on Mustis boat which was fab with a wonderful bbq lunch. We also went scuba diving which was a very good experience with excellent instructors who kept you at ease and made you feel comfortable in the water. It did take a bit of getting used to though. We also did the Jeep safari which was a good laugh. Be warned if they try to show you blue fish they will throw you in the river hehe!!!
Turunc was a great unspoilt village we want to go back already!!
