“Not just great for food, the real ales are fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

9 of my family had a Sunday lunch here and the food was amazing. Sharon and her crew were attentative and professional at all times. But what I would really like to mention is the amount of 'real ales' served here. The ales are kept to a 1st class condition and you are always allowed to 'try before you buy'. Adnams, Proper Job and Crossley Horse Tonic are but a few. Ales are changed on a weekly basis for 'the specials', and my husband looks forward to the weekly change and is rarely disappointed. The atmotsphere and surroundings are clean to a fault. We look forward to our next visit.

“Brilliant and friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

Just spent the weekend at the black horse and we had a great time. Very clean and comfortable. One of the friendliest places I have stayed. The staff are all excellent and the food is absolutely brilliant. I would recommend here for anyone not wanting to stay in the city of Cambridge. Everyone here makes you more than welcome in this local village inn. Will definitely be back again.

“A Proper Old Pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

Seemed to be regulars at the bar. Landlady very friendly as was the waitress. Just popped in from Anglesey Abbey a mile or so down the road for some lunch. If you like beer as I do, there is plenty to choose from. 5 or 6 real ales to choose from, never had Horse Tonic before or even seen it, but not disappointed with it. We had 2 haddock, chips and peas for £15 and very good it was too. Had we been there in the evening steak and chips were BOGOF! Would love to have a local like it. Recommended!

“A little gem in a pretty Cambridgeshire village.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

My husband and I were taking a bikee ride around the Cambridge area and stumbled on to the Black Horse Inn. We had a nice lunch-a delicious burger and some chicken fingers. The food was good, hearty and a great value. The service was excellent and we intend to return for 2 for 1 burger (Monday) or 2 for 1 steak night this summer.

“The Black Horse Inn, Swaffam Bulbeck”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Great food, great service. We both had burgers and they were very well presented and generously sized. Starter was also tasty and large. Friendly bar and waiting staff. Good if you just want a decent pub meal. Would visit again.
