“First return for ten years”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

Returned for lunch with a friend. Better experience this time. Lovely staff with time for you and not rushed. Plenty to eat, cod goujons (starter)' meatball with linguine, and crime brûlée. Nice wine and coffee. Only bad point, a tad expensive.

“Dinner at the Kinmel Arms St George”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

It is always a pleasure visiting the Kinmel Arms St George, whether it's for lunch, dinner or a gathering of friends. The food is always superb, and mine hosts Tim and Lyn always make you feel really welcome. The menu is always changing, and the chef is superb! I have never had a bad meal hear in the 16 years that I've been going there. Truly recommended, a little gem in a historic village setting. You won't be disappointed!!

“Resting on it's laurels”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

This restaurant has been very good in the past but needs to pull it's socks up as the standards are slipping. There is very little competition in the immediate catchment area and this means that they seem to remain popular despite prices being on the high side.
The menu contains a lot of fish and the portion sizes are a little on the mean side but allows you to get the the third course!
The menu needs a review as it lacks some really good signature dishes.
On a positive note, the beer is always good.

We use the Kinmel for special family occasions ... It's not cheap but it is worth the extra $$... Great food, impressive winess, and great ambiance ..

“Homely atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Walking through the door and seeing the large bar counter and serving area gave us some reservations thinking we had walked into an old fashioned pub. The cheerful welcome and comfortable settees by the log fire did however put us at ease and the hostess was soon with us with the menus which had dishes to suit all tastes although some might say they were a bit too fancy. The drinks were carried by the hostess to a well laid out dining area which created a good atmosphere. The food did not disappoint and the portions were ample and tasty with excellent service as we were expecting considering they are at the dearer end for restaurants in the area.
The blackberry crumble with home made custard topped things off superbly - you must try it.
